Pilots want new union

PHX there isnt enough KY to slick up whats been done to this household last 18yrs by the tactics of a few MEC officals.

Hmmm....let me see if I've got this straight: An Alpo Bozette from the west says "two years"...well then = It MUST be true, and totally accurate, and even clairvoyant in fact...No Alpo person would ever put out disinformation for the sake of the "union"..;or her phoney-baloney job

I'll suppose that the inherent Alpo supposition is that if we don't dump Alpo..."All Will be Well" in scant seconds? ROTFLMAO

Why does two years sound so unimaginable? Your MEC's antics have helped to postpone JNC oportunities 2 months.

Life is good here in the West though.
1. 10 more vacation days to West pilots (That's about 507.00 a day!).
2. East contract alone is not amendable for two years, but we can expend our time and efforts on our section 6.
3. Higher pay on narrow body.
4. Much better contract overall compared to LOA 93.

Oh, and the HUGE windfall that some of the East pilot's state we West pilots would get: According Ed Bular's most recent communication, there are 20 East retirements in July. Guess what? TEN OF THEM ARE FIRST OFFICERS!

While your MEC fritter's away valuable TIME and MONEY for those 10 captain seats, we all suffer for lack of a better contract. Rage against the machine my friend!

Since it's so great out there in the west; How about drop the attempt to steal our seats ("for those 10 captain seats") and seniority and we can all go for a new contract????.......Didn't think so  Hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Cactusboy53,

If the East suffers everyone suffers. The problem is you Westies aren't used to that are you? You all want your money now, you only see dollar signs and East knows that and is willing to wait a L-O-N-G, L--O--N--G time. You don't get it do you? East isn't going to budge an inch unless the Nicolau is shredded into a million little pieces. Like I said the Easties have already dug in for the long haul in order to preserve their senority. Better get used to it and suffer with them...

Hope your section 6 goes well for you. That way you can keep your industry leading contract. I bet the SWA boys are ready to follow your lead.

The poor East will just have to get by with keeping LOA93. The attrition, widebody, international is such a burden and it does not seem fair for you to take on them as well.

You call it rage..........we call it rape

HYPOCRISY: The feigning of beliefs, feelings, or virtues one does not hold. (Webster's).

So, would one be considered a hypocrite if they signed a legal and binding document that promised they would abide by any decision rendered by a thrid party....and then cried NO FAIR?? It's a "Do Over"!!

I'm not crying in my Starbuck's yet buddy, I just know that we signed the same document and are willing to abide by the decision. I also know that while life in the West is OK, Brother Jack is costing you a lot more that a beat up seat in tired old 737.

1)I didn't sign anything, and there's not one guy on either MEC that I voted for.

2)I'm in the happy position of not actually needing the money, So: It's actually an honest matter of principle for me.

3)I love Boeings of pretty much any persuasion

Addedum: It's my honest opinion that Alpo simply doesn't "work", and hasn't for many years. The hassles, expenses and risks involved with establishing a new union seem very reasonable to me in light of what Alpo's done TO...not FOR the commercial pilots in our country over the last two decades.

So get a new union.

I doubt they will care about the original poster any more than the old one did.

He only cares about himself.

Guess what, the junior E pilots, who got screwed the most, just moved up 20 positions. This takes place every month, give or take a couple. I'm flying with guys who were recalled a little over 6 months ago, who are now holding lines of flying. Guess what also; that's going to continue indefinitely. How you doin out W in comparison? Dave Odell having that kind of move up? By the way, all but 4 of those that retired could be captains if they wanted on a 737/Airbus.

Unless you're a rep, you didn't vote for any of the MEC officers.

And you vote for only your LC so I don't understand this "either" stuff.

Rumor is that West will soon have a bid that will include about 50 upgrades.

Fine with me, E keeps theirs, W keeps theirs. First bid W has had in who knows how long. That kind of move up covers a couple months worth on the E.

I'm happy to see the junior E pilots moving up nicely. The thought that if this award was in effect, and we were combined (fat chance), all W pilots would have first dibs on the vacancies over the junior E pilots is a travesty.

Exactly my point = the respective MEC's are a nightmare produced by Alpo...not the line pilots, so all the previous 3 months' "The west said/did/etc" vs "The east said/did/etc" as being in any way a responsibility of any line members is nonsense. Imho...we've all been done poorly by Alpo, and not by mutual malicious intent, nor actions on the part of any line pilots. I'll submit for consideration the notion that Alpo's organizational setup "needs work" to say the least.
