Pit hub to IND ?

This is all pork. U will scale down the PIT operation, no doubt. What will be left is pretty much what you see now, an airport dominated by regional a/c. In the end U will continue to invest their energies in PHL & CLT. Talk about an IND operation is just talk. What we should all be concerned about is the counties desire to fill those gates. In the past PIT has always worked with U on keeping others away and ensuring dominance. What now? Southwest might come cricling and the airport management might throw them a bone, but I think this is unlikely. However, a company like Airtran who in the past has been interested in PIT expansion might give it another look. The point: we may have so pissed off the county they might go wheeling and dealing with another outfit which in the end would mean more of the same for this airline; another market lost to industry erosion.

So, AirTran looks to PIT.... that makes some sense. They pick up Midwest E''s 717 orders, maybe out of bankruptcy.... maybe the hook up with Spirit.... realign the operations to focus on ATL, MCO, PIT and maybe MKE.. hmmmm

Well, it certainly looks like U is sticking it to PIT. According to the spokesperson, most of the cost of operating,is due the repayment of the terminal built on the behest of U.

But Roddey figures he can perhaps reduce cost, by changing the contracts of airport workers amongst other things.

Looks like full circle :(

Sounds more like PIT has been sticking it to U. Its about time we got these costs under control. If PIT won't play, there are plenty of other "players" out there. The "rust belt" is dead. Why would anybody want to operate in an environment where the costs are over twice the going rate and they have to butt heads with the steel mill mentality at every turn??? You think WN or JB or Air Tran would seriously consider operating there? We are crazy for putting up with it for this long. Go Dave!!!
