From we on the inside...do not underestimate the members of the IAM here at U.
Forget UAL.

Our members are MUCH stronger, don't matter what union is repesenting them.

"They are in control, here. In the truest meaning of that concept."

"ain't over...til it's over....I'll be seeing you on the other side" of this, my friend.

Next few months will be very interesting for Labor, Mangagement and the public.

From we on the inside...do not underestimate the members of the IAM here at U.

I DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE MEMBERSHIP; IT’S THE LEADERSHIP I’M CONCERNED ABOUT!

Forget UAL.

SURE WHY NOT? THE IAM DID, THAT’S WHY THEY GOT THE BOOT LAST JULY.

Our members are MUCH stronger, don't matter what union is repesenting them. "They are in control, here. In the truest meaning of that concept."

WHAT CONVINCED YOU OF THIS? WAS IT THE FORCED REVOTE OF SEPT.17 2002?

"ain't over...til it's over....I'll be seeing you on the other side" of this, my friend.

I may not be a fan of the current union leadership regime, but I do realize it is they whom will be here for this battle so I suggest we all come together and let's prepare to kick some hiney to save our futures. This is about our work and our livelihoods. The union choice battle has to wait or WE lose and that is what THEY are banking on. Let's not fall into their scheme of things and let us show them we still shut this place down again. No Airbus work then there will be no airline.

-- The number one reason a person will strike and stay out is job preservation.

-- Thanks again to our wonderful Flight Attendants. We in Maintenance owe you and will be there for you.

Pitguy,

You Sir are 100% correct. I'm not thrilled with the IAM either..but we need to fight those set on destroying OUR futures , one battle at a time.

Changing Unions...or debating changing unions at this point in the ultimate battle over stopping work leaving us , is to say the least counter-productive.

Lets win the fight against the company over outsourcing our work first....then whom represents will settle itself based on the end result. Even if the IAM Membership does preserve the work we own? We still have the ability to change if that is deemed necessary by the majority?

I'm sure the one thing that all we agree upon...is preserving our jobs and futures!!

One fight at a time....as house divided rarely wins.

JetMech,

That post is in reference to a response to Piney Bob. What I know very well, is the character, integrity, resiliance, and strength of the mechanic membership. (that's the INSIDE). I do not focus on UAL and its members who ALLOWED OUT SOURCING for what ever reasons we could argue all day and night.

Point......Mechanics here at U are in control of everything that has to do with their work...with leadership or without their leadership. THEY CONTROL THEIR OWN DESTINY. I am not sure you and I speak the same language. I am not using this time to batter the leadership, I am here to support who counts in this and THAT IS THE MECHANIC MEMBERSHIP! Period. The leadership is not something I need to argue with the members. I am not one for that argument, that too, will have to be dealt with by the mechanics only ....now or later in THIER TIME and in THEIR ARENA.
