Pledge of Allegiance

Look at my previous posts. I have always said that public monies should never be used to support private beliefs on public lands. Just because I may not have addressed one specific issue (I do not remember every post I have made) does not mean I support it.

I have always been very clear on where I stand in regards to this issue. Do not use my money to support ANY religious belief.

Just as an aside. When I worked in crew skd, my counter part was a practicing Muslim. He prayed at least 3 to 4 times during the shift for about 15-20 min a pop. I had to cover both desks during that time frame. Ask me how I felt about someone getting a paid 1 hour break each day.

I have no use for any religion in the public domain. Can't do the job that everyone has to do, find one you can. Can't fly with out washing your feet? Don't fly. The Amish seem to do OK with it. Granted genetically they are screwed but OH well. Someone has yet to explain to me the need to have religion in the public domain? WTF is the problem with keeping it private? Why do you feel compelled to wear it on your arm? It always bugs me when I see people wearing a religious symbol purposely in view. I have worn a star of David since I was about 10 years old. I always keep it tucked in my shirt. I have always felt self conscious about keeping it private. I have never had the need to advertise my beliefs.

Go to post 23 on this thread and you'll read your words to me, and I quote:

"When was the last time you argued in favor of allowing Wicca, Satanic worship, Hindu, Shinto or a 'prayer' from any other religion to be read in school or at a publicly sponsored event? I know you have argued to allow the christians to do so because you obviously do not have enough private places to do it. But what about the rest of us? You never argue to allow everyone else to practice their faith right along side yours. Have you ever argued to allow a pentagram beside your nativity scene on public property? What about a passage from the Koran beside your 10 commandments? Or a Hindu passage on the class room wall. Have you? I have never seen it on these boards."

Seems that you expect me to publicly make statements but then when challenged, you respond with
"Just because I may not have addressed one specific issue (I do not remember every post I have made) does not mean I support it."

Close but not quite. I have said on numerous occasions that I do not favor public monies to be used for any religious support. That covers foot washing basins, Wicca displays etc.

You have never made an equivalent statement in favor of allowing all religions to have equal access to public properties. SO neither of us has photographic memories.

I have said it here that I do not support ANY form of public monies to be used for any religious support nor do I support any religious displays on public lands, buildings or institutions that are supported in any way shape or form by public funds.

Do you agree with this or do you want all religions (even the ones you don't like) to have equal access with the same limitations/restrictions/rights to public properties? Is it OK to have a Satanic display beside the Nativity display?
