What's new

Pre-Chapter 11

I'll try...

It was the last time the chairman of maintenance was on video as a twu rep before going into management.

Also the Chairman of Stores

Both
Kevin Hammack - TWU Chairman of Maintenance
Kevin Thompson - TWU Chairman of Stores
Ring Leaders of the Anti-AMFA TeAAm TWU

Both went to mangement shortly after AMFA was denied an election by the NMB

Imagine that.

This is just another example of the TWU lack of leadership they have failed repeatedly to see thru the company B.S. not just in 2003 but the b scale in 1983 the pay for your benefits in 89 etc etc. thanks for the trip down memory lane some will need it and remember this is the same guy who said we going to fill their pockets with money and stick our hands in their pockets, well we see how that ended. I believe the word would be Bamboozled!!!

GO AMP!!!!

Maybe if someone would give an example of what viable plan or direction should take place instead of just being against our current direction, then the membership might take note and listen.

I offered my opinion of a plan, but it has its flaws for those that believe only in restore and more, or that only 100% advancement is in the cards right now.

It is easy to complain about where we have been, but I think the membership is smart enough to know that just simply signing cards and removing the TWU is not going to magically fix our problems, because the membership is so divided and every group wants their problems fixed and to hell with everyone else.

SO,

Elected TWU Leaders,
Chuck, Bob, and any other elected leader on this forum, please detail your plan either here on to the membership by some means. They are in secret negotations again and we have no idea what their plan is or what direction they think we should go.

Leaders of AMP,
Detail your plan and post here or submit it for view by the membership. Consitution based on APA we have heard, Democratic with recall and election of all officers, we have heard, but give some details of that structure and how it might benefit each and every member regardless of their staus. What would you propose to AA right now under this 1113c process?

While promoting AMFA, the plan was to get ALL mechanics into one union, negotiate experience recognition clauses into labor agreements, and promote professioanlism and accountability.

TWU doesn't come close to any of those.

AMP has never detailed the plan those leaders invision. Only answer to specifics I have ever heard was the membership will give us direction. Well that is why AMP has not flown. The Members seek leadership and a vision. And did not get it yet from AMP. Sure they want deomcracy and can see the problems with the TWU. But you have utterly failed to advance a specifc idea or plan.

It is easy to complain and be against everything, but what may ask is the plan?
DETAILED

I placed a plan out in public that many will view as intolerable. But I least I have a plan.
My plan is only even digestable because I know what the alternative is.

Where is the detailed plan or ideas of everyone else who is continuously complaining?
And how do you intend to make your plan succeed via implementation and how long do you estimate it will take?

BE HONEST

In other words the biggest flaw in the AMP drive is lack of details and vision.

Show something like this video, detail the failure and why it failed, and then offer a detailed alternative.
You might actually get somewhere with these type of specifics instead of nothing but negative attacks.

Nobody has a plan?
Nobody wants to publicly express their ideas?

Imagine that.
Sure is alot of complaining go on here at this forum.
But not many solutions.

I believe your posted ideas have a lot of merit.

Why not include Bob Owne's summer 2010 video about the TA. "Were leaving a lot of money on the table by voting yes on this TA"..."We can't keep saying we'll get 'em next time"..."This TA is extremely divisive"

Bob Owens is a good man to have covering your back ! I think there is a case of the company having the B/K plan all along, which would bring the bargaining in bad faith into the picture.
We all know this company does nothing without Bean Counters and Advisors years in advance.give me a breakl.

Well a good leader would have taken the possibility of the filing into consideration, educated himself and the membership on what that might look like, instead of making claims it was a bluff up until it happened. And then once it did happen everyone defends his leadership mistakes by claiming "it was going to happen anyway". Give me a break Mr. Red that leadership direction cost me alot of cash and Bob was telling me retro was still on the table.

Why can't everyone just admit we made a mistake following Bob's advice in the video, and Bob Owens made a mistake leading us down this path, then we move on?
There is nothing wrong with admitting a mistake, but to keep burying your head and blaming others just compounds the mistake and is far from professional.

Do you not get it?

AA would have filed anyhow and they would have come after you again.

Is that so hard to understand?

It happened at US, Pilots gave concessions outside of chapter 11 and the company went after them again in chapter 11.

Every other group gave concessions in September of 2002 and by December the company came after more, even though we had just signed concessions in September.

And even if you voted in the TA, and got more money, dont you think the ask would have been even more?

The ask and given was taken without bankruptcy in 2003 and now 2012 we are at our ask and give for 2012. With your theory, those that had already filed are due again....

Your post doesnt address anything I posted.

And let me give you some history, we gave concessions at US in 1992, outside of chapter 11.

Gave two rounds in 2002/2003 in bankruptcy.

And once again in 2005 in bankruptcy.
