Problems in PHL Tonight

I think every airline goes thru something like B6 once in it's lifetime. A lot of US employees weren't here (or were at HP) during the winter storm back in the early 90's (winter of 92/93 maybe?). It reached the point that OCC lost track of where planes were. They ended up calling the stations to get a list of the planes that were there so they could establish where all the planew were.

Crews couldn't get thru to scheduling, or if they did they were told to go to the hotel and wait for instructions which often didn't come. Some crews ending up sitting in a hotel 3-4 days.

In other words, it was a royal mess. And this was an airline that had operated in the northeast for 50+ years at that point.
