Not sure how the progressivs lack tolerance as we are the ones seeking to expand equal rights to a disenfranchised group and your group is the one seeking to maintain the status quo as they always have (women, blacks). Perhaps if you would stop seeing your self as superior and accept otbers ideas this would not happen.
See your quote where you call me homophobic if I don't adhere to your world view of morality, sexuality.
Then again, blind religious dogma precludes the idea that any other belief could be right.
Think I agree with that. If you belive in the limitation of equal rights you are wrong. In this case if you are seeking to continue to deprive gays of equal rights you are homophobic.
See with the name calling. I don't have to be Homophobic to believe it's morally Wrong. Please note the definition below

–noun
unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality.[/i]
The key word is the first word. Unreasoning. Religions of every stripe take at best a dim view of homosexual behavior. What I find rather amusing is the vitriol directed at Christians in this country who oppose gay marriage. Racist, homophobic, bigot, Nazi have all been used. Now "Imagine If" we were a nation dominated by Islam? Our gay friends would be stacked up like so much cord wood and summarily hauled away. MARRIED? Yeah "Married" to the big dirt nap is what they'd be.
😛 2nd part of the definition "Fear". What's to fear? I have several friends in the lifestyle and I'm certainly not afraid of them. The only antipathy I have I save from the Homo Promo crowd and the constant drum beat that if I don't agree with them then the named calling starts. However much good will & tolerance I have they manage to piss me off to the point where it I were cornered on the way to the voting both by the homo promo crowd and we had a referendum on gay marriage I'd vote against it. That's how fragile my support of gay marriage is. I'm a Christian and I make no bones about it. I also don't flaunt it every 8 seconds. I believe it's morally wrong. However we live in a country where individual freedom and liberty without a state sanctioned religion is the rule of the day. I am just so far beyond tired of this. Having individual states decide I think is the way to go.
Marriage is state sanctioned so all people have the right to get married. Not just the ones your god says can get married. We go by the COTUS. It makes no such distinction. Do you want to rewrite it also?
I'm not touching this again because you can't seem to get it through your head that "Marriage" is a spiritual Covenant first and foremost. Virtually every religion views marriage as a spiritual covenant and most don't know that it's only been the last 150 years that the government was even involved in marriage.
Even Malcolm X had it figured out with atheists when he said, "A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything."
