Looks like a mag bird half way up, where it usually is, and the loop is probably an EM antenna. One would assume this setup has TX/RX in the machine, instread of in a bird?? Depending on how heavy it is, it looks like it'd be easier and more stable to tow, and less costly to drop or strike than a 5-channel EM bird.

Yes, our company is dragging one of these back East right now, actually there is one even stranger looking than this one.

Problem with the Hula hoop that the wind comes into play because of its lighter weight.

Same one that "Icefloe" was towing around Newfoundland for the better part of last year.

Yep...EM, he said it was very heavy but towed relatively well, altough somewhat slow.

I thought it was somebody trying to get a helicopter involved in the Calgary Stampede. HEEEE HHHHHAAAAAAA.

During my time in Terrace, I built a few communications towers for the Dept. of Fisheries (comm shells) They flew similarly with the nose down attitude. Even at 60Knots ground speed, the Astar airspeed indicator never left zero with the airflow hitting the pitot at such a high angle.
