I know this is not a "round" anniversary, but I couldn't but think of that awful day 23 years ago today. Has it really been that long? I remember it like it was last week. The terrible new of the crash that evening; my mom called to tell me. Then the next morning, hearing the news report of the apparent cause on the radio. I thought how could anyone from the industry do such a thing?
Some time later, I got to know some people who had worked with both the killer and with Ray Thompson. They all said the latter was a great guy and wonderful manager, the former, a jerk who always seemed wound a bit too tight.
RIP to the innocent victims.
