It is unlikely that wages will be further
cut for union members. What IS likely
is that US and HP will be kept on separate
certificates under one holding company
for a year or two, and then the highest
cost provider will be shut down and folded
into the other.

When this occurs, layoffs, retirements,
and terminations will happen in the
entity that has higher costs. There will
be no need for wage reductions
because there will be no employees
to pay.

Your analysis seems to be on the mark. I asked the same question of an AFA leader about a month ago, and their reply was that management actually has our wages lower than what they were shooting for, so they won't be coming after more pay cuts. But this AFA leader said that how management will get around this is by "parking a ton of a/c and then laying off massively", their words, not mine. So your prescience seems to bear out what the AFA leadership has been hearing.

Not that the CWA is this great powerful union but I don't see this happining either but like I said it is going to get interesting. I for one hope that if any break in our current aggreement is broken we all walk .....ha ha ha ha ha ha I can't stop ha ah ah aha
