Quote Of The Day

ESPP was terminated because it became cheaper to get shares thru eTrade and other online brokers, so fewer and fewer employees were participating in it.

Do you have figures?

It was the convience of payroll deduction that got those that I know to enroll, not neccisarily because it was the cheapest way to get stock.

These management defenders have an excuse for everything!

Some are very poor excuses, but they create some form of an excuse for everything.

Who believes their BS anyway?

One simply has to look at the current price of oil, compare that to the current transportation index. Then compare those figures to 2003.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what has happened. Was that the original plan in 2003? Who knows!

But nobody can argue against the current known facts that have documented results.

Okay we all know fuel prices have gone up. But trying to tie concessions to fuel prices sounds like something the black helicopter crowd would say. Preety thin if you ask me.

Oh, yeah, that's responsible.... Management flunkies make up excuses for the heck of it, but you'll believe some hack with a website who says "I don't pay income taxes so you don't have to either!"....

If you take his advice, let us know when the IRS seizes your house and bank accounts, OK?

Did you bother to read the information and court filings?

Or do you just have basic beliefs regarding taxation and so you claim I am taking his advice and losing my house and bank account?

As a tax lawyer, I don't need to read all of his rantings and ravings. I am very familiar with the debunked arguments of tax protesters, especially those of Schiff and Cohen.

I have never agreed with the federal income tax, nor its high rates on those with high incomes, but there is no question as to the legality of the Internal Revenue Code.

Tax protesters facing prison terms for their crimes aren't legitimate sources of tax advice, IMO.

If these morons were right, do you think anyone would still be paying income tax?

YMMV. Good luck.

I tend to agree, but why isn't he in jail? Or "they" in jail since you named two?

Actually, I've heard Schiff on talk shows a couple times over the past few years, and each time, he's been totally discredited by callers who know far more about tax law than I do.

And yes, I do have some basic beliefs about taxation. They're a lot like union dues -- it sucks to pay them, but they're also a necessary evil if we're to have things like roads, a military, and a justice system. I won't pay a dollar more than I have to (and I refuse to check-off the optional contributions to the presidential campaign fund, etc), but I do pay them.

Because Schiff is still in the appeals process. Give it time, though...
