I heard today that in order to receive a pension allotment for any given year, you have to have worked x amount of hours for that year? If not, you don't get anything for that year. Does anyone have any information on that? If this is true, then a lot of parttimers may not be getting the pension that they think they have coming. Of which what happens to the money that USAir gave to the iam in our behalf?

have a question for you all? my coworker hasnt decided if he is going to take his pension and fully retire from US. However, we work together in a city that was outsourced in June 2005. He feels that we may eventually go back to mainline, which I know that wont ever happen again. IF he takes his pension now, and say (for example we go back to mainline,)would he be able to continue with it or how would it work?

he did, several times, and they couldnt tell him anything. is there another way he could find out?
