Ramp And Utility Told To "clean Out You Locker"

Forgive me if I'm uninformed about this subject, but is the airline talking about outsourcing Fleet Service personnel along with Utility and Heavy Mtc? I'm on furlough.luvthe9 said:

Pitbull, could you link me to a site that shows where the IAM leadership said they plan to strike...?
The last I heard is that they would consider "work actions" and will fight against an injuction, but their plan is to present the company's last proposal for the IAM membership of each unit to vote upon. And that they are reviewing those very proposals tonight and in the morning.
I know you probably get all excited by the prospect of picket signs waving, and clever chants such as "1-2-3-4, were not gonna take it anymore..." Pitty, but the fact is that the IAM has quite a bit to lose in a strike too... (like 9000 jobs forever) That would kinda be why it is the last option they wish to utilize.
I will give it to the IAM leadership, in that they have been a lot more savvy about using the "strike" word than that other union's leaders that tossed about that inane fluff about an illegal "nationwide strike at all carriers". Yeah right, like this is France or something, please...
That being the case, let's keep the inane fluff on here to a mininum about the IAM too, eh...? Everytime you say the word "strike", it drives away more business that we need to keep.

The company did not tell the workers to clean out their lockers.
The union informed the mechanics to back up their tool boxes incase of the cancellation of toolbox insurance and told the utility workers in case they are not allowed on the property to remove their personal belongings as a precaution.

Rico is nothing more than a Company Poster boy. He is all smiles in his shiny new EMB-170 with a bright future ahead of him. He made the Big Move from an ALG Captain to an MDA F/O for 1/2 the pay, and he is just thrilled about it. He has become the USA320 Jr. telling everyone what they should do for the good of the company after 3 rounds of concessions. It is very apparent the he has not yet been Screwed enough to know any better. According to him the IAM represented should accept any T/A that is thrown their way even if 1/3 of their jobs will be lost as a result of it. You guys better take his advice so that he can get into the left seat of that 170 soon!!!! Funny, I recall the ALG Pilots crying all of the time about how they got Screwed by Mainline with no flow-thru agreement. I never told any of them to take it with a smile, or gave any opinion on a topic that had nothing to do with my job. I'm sure Rico was one of the Cheif Whiners before he got his new hold on life at MDA. It is very simple, If it doesn't have any affect on YOUR CONTRACT...stay out of it PERIOD. He thinks everyone should bite the bullet again to save his Butt. Sure we will go for it so that you can move up to a Mainline job someday with a 100k+ Paycheck. Think about the people who will be out the door for good along with the ones that will be Lucky to make $25k a year instead of yourself for once will Ya..

You seem bitter, and looking for either a target to lash out at, or some sense of empowerment over this situation. The threat of a strike or work action, even by another work group must give you some small sense of control over events swirling around you I guess.
Sorry you "feel" that way. And I am sorry if I upset you or anyone else by pointing out that a strike is the last option that the IAM wants to excersise. Not matter how "good" the threat of one might make you and others "feel".
