Below is the current pay rates for flight attendants at AA. Note, they get an even higher rate for time flown over 70hours. There is nothing in our contract (work rules, etc.) that should warrant any less hourly pay. We need to fight for what is fair and equitable in this business. You can guarantee that management is making a similar wage at both companies. I must also add, why is it that in every flight attendant crew news session our memebers ask questions about creamer and coat hangers? Why is no flight attendant asking why management is stalling on our negotiations and failing to offer a fair wage? I don't care about powdered creamer, coat hangers, or overhead bin space on the 320. Pay me a wage that allows me to survive and I'll deal with the small problems!

Didn’t AA Flight Attendants go on Strike for this contract?

No, we did not. I started in Sep. 2000. The contract had been in negotiation for a year or more at that point if I remember correctly. The Tentative Agreement was reached in the Summer of 2001. It was ratified by majority vote of the flight attendants and approved on 9/12/2001.

In the Restructuring Participation Agreement that went into effect 01APR2003, we took a 15.6% cut in pay to help keep the company out of bankruptcy. The percentage cut was in base and incentive rates of pay. The cut was actually greater than that because there were other duty rig changes that reduced other incentive pay--such as flying #1 on a "non-purser" 757 trip. Galley pay for 757 was also reduced.

I think the strike you are remembering occurred during contract negotiations in the early 90's--the contract before the current one. IIRC, the strike lasted 3 days.

This response is TOTALLY uncalled for. Our pay rates are a matter of public knowledge. Just how do think we were able to crow about "industry-leading" pay rates when the contract was approved in 2001? Because we knew what the other airlines were paying.

So you are a newbe your current pay was a result of your fellow flight attendants going on strike. You better believe management remembers the strike.AA FA had balls I admire them back then

Since When Is MY PAY Public Knowledge? What? Is It Plasted All Over All The Bill Boards?

That's not your pay if you work for US, so no worries....

Does Not Matter If IT's US, AA,DL,NW Or Any One Else..Joe Public DOES NOT NEED To Know... Do YOu THink Any NON Airline Employee On These Boards Will Tell YOu What They Make..Hell.. They Won't Even Tell You What They Do For A Living...But They ALL SEEM To KNOW SOOOOO Much About What We Do And Our Industry!!

We don't know what your W2's are, so relax. It's a benchmark and puts into perspective the general compensation of an F/A at AA. It's not telling me how many hours YOU personally worked, or what kind of incentive pay you got, and I really don't care about YOU. But if I were job seeking to be an F/A, that contract would give me a "big picture" of the compensation.

It's no different than knowing that someone in the contracting business makes $25/hr, an IT network security specialist makes $90/hr, or a high priced lawyer bills out at $300/hr. They're just benchmarks.

If you want to be in a job where your pay is not so widely known, then get into a non-union job.

I couldn't care less what "non airline" people make on this board, or what they think of my pay. Our fight is with the company on this, and maybe it is good for them to see AA /DL pay rates posted on here! Might wake them up and realize there is a disparity that ain't gonna fly! 😀 😱

Someone needs to go easier on the caffeine. B)

Hourly pay rates are common knowledge. The unions don't even place these numbers behind the password protected part of their websites - they're out in the open. Relax. Nobody knows how much you're paid - but we do know the hourly rates for Flight Attendants at AA.

Man oh man are there some weird people in the world. Whewwwwww. 🙄 Hey everyone. I make $##.## an hour.

I'm guessing from your handle that you are an LCC f/a. YOUR pay is not plastered (note spelling) all over the Bill Boards. Mine are. I don't care. It's all part of public filings anyway.

But, since we don't know your seniority date (unless it's 1988) and we don't know how many hours you fly in a month, at best, we would know what your contractual hourly rate is. We would have no idea what you are paid.

In my case, look at 6 year rate of pay. Now do you know anymore about my take home than you knew before?
