Rates of Pay-this is what we deserve

Since When Is MY PAY Public Knowledge? What? Is It Plasted All Over All The Bill Boards?

Um, your pay has always been public knowledge. You can look up the paycales of any unionized airline for any position.

Why in hell would you think that an airlines HOURLY rate would be a secret? Do you ever see an add in the paper for a job that says,"STARTING AT $##.## an hour". That means that everyone knows. I have a hard time seeing where your comming from as does EVERYONE else on here I'm betting.

Job: Flight Attendant

Employer: US

2006 W-2: We get paid? Why wasn't I told this before!

Does Not Matter If IT's US, AA,DL,NW Or Any One Else..Joe Public DOES NOT NEED To Know... Do YOu THink Any NON Airline Employee On These Boards Will Tell YOu What They Make..Hell.. They Won't Even Tell You What They Do For A Living...But They ALL SEEM To KNOW SOOOOO Much About What We Do And Our Industry!!

Your pay is based on "per block hour", sort of.

So, in 2008, first year pay is $23.28 per block hour. 15 year pay is $52.90 per BH.

To convert to pay equivalent to other employees, divide by the number of hours spent at work. The conversion factor is pretty much close to your trip rig, 1:3.5 based on time you are subject to the company whims. So, your apples to apples conversion is:

For 2008, first year pay is: $6.65 per hour and fifteen year pay is: $15.11.

Notice first year pay is now less than the Federal minimum wage. Your max pay is just over twice minimum wage.

Pretty pathetic, IMHO. Are you ashamed, is that why you do not want the public to know how little you make?

Oh, and how are those "benefits" going for you?

signed ... general public that knows how to google your pay .....

Actually, I figure it a different way. At DL, we don't get paid for time between flights or time sitting in a hotel (except for per deim, of course) only time on the aircraft with the door closed. So, if I work 80 hours per month, and make 52.90 per hour; then that would be like someone on the ground working 160 hours per month at 26.46 per hour, which isn't too pathetic!
F/A 80hours x 52.90=4232.00
Ground worker 160hours x 26.46=4232.00

True, but all is not rosy for the FA. You are not getting paid for the time when you are not flying, and how much time is that? ALOT. You make it sound as if we have a better deal than the ground staff, and sometimes that is just not true. They get to avoid the roach motels, sleep in their bed every night, and cook in their own kitchen each day should they choose. So is the FA really just working 80 hours?? Just wanted to point out another angle. It's a hard comparison to make.....

Yes, but look on the bright side...how many of them are sudoko experts or know the 6-letter word missing in The ------ of Oz?

You are certainly able to figure as well as opine your pay anyway you wish.

Perhaps you would be more comfortable figuring your pay on just the time you work? Riding DAL, I would figure about a ten to one ratio on the longer flights, say, six minutes of every hour. That would put your pay at about $529.00 per hour.

Wow, you are overpaid! Perhaps you should allow your company some breathing room and voluntarily give them back some of their check, thereby lowering your pay into a normal range........

Oh, so you want to get paid for providing "face time", you know, walking up and down the aisles? Do you place a "value" on reassuring the pax? Even if one were to figure your hourly guarantee at duty rig ( time spent in view of passengers, 1:2, generally), would you not then effectively be paid at $26.45, one penny per hour less than a ground worker? Are you comparing equal seniority to equal seniority?

Just wondering.....

You're right. There is a lot of unproductive time in our schedules. I hate not sleeping in my own bed. Conversely, when I'm at the hospital, I work 12.5 hours with one 1/2 hour lunch and 2-15 minute breaks. My unit is particularly busy, so there isn't much "free time" to just sit for a minute. No, I don't think we have it any better than ground staff. We just got holiday pay-something the ground staff has had for years.

First, any job has unproductive time. Ours is between flights at the airport; on layovers; and sitting on a plane with the door open. I was just pointing out the facts. At DL, we are paid per flight hour. It doesn't matter if we are serving drinks or filing our nails on the jumpseat. If (at AA)you FLY 80 hours per month, and make 52.90 per FLIGHT HOUR, that would equal $4232.00 per month. Conversely, if I worked 40 hours per week (which is what most jobs do) that would be 160 hours per month. For me to make $4232 per month in 160 hours, means I would make about $26.46 per hour. That's hardly minimum wage.

Thank For Sharing With The Whole World What Our Pay Is You IDIOT!!!!!!!!

Job: House Spouse
Job Title: House Sposue
Employer: The House and The Other Spouse
Household 2006 W-2: $20,000.00 more then 2005 when we I was working as a FA and gone four days a week. The house is cleaner and in much better shape and the junk food is gone from our diets. Oh, and the blood pressure is down 15 points and the other spouse is happier.

BTW, net disposable income also actually increased due to much lower expenses incurred in being gone all the time.
