Recovery

Curbside was down ALL DAY at PBI and the kiosks finally came up later in the day, after it was discovered they needed a reboot....my god...what a cluster fu*k!! It was BAD...very BAD!! I'm freakin' stressed to the max!  You just have to shake your head... 🙄

Have a drink. Any migration is going to be this way on day one remember the switch to Sabre? Or, any other airline reservations migration for that matter. The final verdict will come in the days ahead. However, note to Tempe, to call this a success less than 48 hours into it is not the proper way to be doing something, that is just jinxing yourself .....

Eeek! Any idea how FLL went? Sunday is the day all the cruise ships come in -- a real mess on a normal Sunday. I cannot even fathom what it was like in MIA & FLL on cruise ship hell day. Not good.

Started out in MCO this afternoon and we were posted as a 20 minute delay due to the a/c inbound from PIT. We tried to turn it ASAP but it took 1:20 to get us going. We put the majority of people on then had about 15 seats to fill. There was where it became a problem.....it took them 1/2 hour to figure out how to get the last 15 people booked or whatever the heck was going on.....then we had to wait for W/B. Same thing happened in CLT. Boarded the flight, had 18 open seat then we spent the next 45 minutes while pax trickled on one by one. Then once again we had to wait for W/B. In addition, they can't figure out how to even print a manifest----It's crazy.

The agent I talked to in ORD said that it will probably be the same tomorrow and they are staying up all night printing boarding passes to try to be ready.

Tomorrow is the last day of a 3 day. Four legs. Supposed to get back to PIT at 18:30.....That I highly doubt.

Good Luck on your 4 day---they'll have it figured out by the time you are commuting home.

One final note...the agents are up against a really bad situation and they are doing a GREAT job !!! I just wish they didn't have to carry this burden because the company once again dropped the ball.

Most of what I have heard have been very few problems with the computers, but more of a the agents not being familiar enough which slows down the process, thus resulting in long lines.

Except, of course, for the rows of useless kiosks. They count as computers.

I know I know it was bad I felt like a Mack truck hit me last night.

The Kiosks are NOT up in running in CLT and PHL and many other US Airways Stations, according to Elise the VP Of Communications on CLT morning news this morning, they have no idea what is causing it and have no idea of when they will be up and running.

That was as of 7:30 this morning. All she could say was they are on a differant IT platform and they dont know what is causing the problem.

They flew in 20 PHX CSAs last night to assist today to open more ticket counter positions.

Don't know where JMM and UW are getting their information, but you two could not be more wrong.

DCA was really bad and I couldnt figure whether it was training or what. Obviously the kiosks created the snowballing checkin problems but we had flights returning to gate if one was open when we couldnt get numbers to the aircraft.

There were problems getting W&B in DCA even with SABRE.

So at least that hasn't changed.

I wonder which of the dozen people you always see in the DCA ramp breakroom watching TV is the one that's supposed to call in the cargo numbers, but never does.

Cargo numbers are not called in, it is a computer entry into DECS.

How could Tempe experts be unaware the kiosks were on a different IT platform? Wouldnt that be one of the first areas addressed?

Hey JMM,

This is from this morning at CLT, so please explain how they are working?

Hey JMM,

They have been up sporadically through out the day. When I wrote that, they were up and running. There is no excuse for this and I am certainly not defending Tempe, just defending little old me.

They were never up and running in CLT, PHL and many US East Stations according to the SR VP of Communcations and still are not working.

Chill dude,
This post was meant to be informational not confrontational.
You have to be liquid since flexible is too rigid in this case.

And they are still down. The Charlotte Observer reported this morning that Phil Gee said they were aware of the Kiosks problems at 4:30 am Sunday morining.

Why did they not turn Sabre back on until they got this outdated, overated, antiquated, useless SHARES system running properly? This company is going to he11 and no one is holding IT responsible! HEADS SHOULD BE ROLLING!!! If you don't think so, then you come to CLT, stand behind the ticket counter (If you can even make your way through the crowds) and face the wrath of this DISASTER!

Comming in from the employee lot yesterday, you could see NO MOVEMENT on the runnways or taxiways at all. IT WAS AT A STANDSTILL with C-CON on an indefinate hold.

We have a serious problem here folks..so for those who say its a GLITCH...GET YOU HEADS OUT OF YOUR #@$ and watch this company go to he11 with the rest of us.
