I feel sorry for the Pit employees. However, did the CWA have a time frame for electing severance? I can't imagine the company announcing anything prior to this taking place.

Why not just put this in the other thread. Res posts the same thing every week.

Really, nothing new here. Just venting stress. And Why make the subject line, "Res Office Closure" ? It is misleading.

My supervisor told me today that they were advised in a meeting the decision will not be made for 3 more weeks. Of course, she is going to be out of a job too when Pit closes so who knows if the local management is being kept in the dark as well.

I heard there was a big meeting in Washington today, so mabey we'll hear which office will close tomorrow (Fri) ...Supposed to be early out info soon too...mabey next week...

They are really anxious to close one of the Res offices to outsoucrce, saving on salarys & benefits...

They only have until June 1st to get all the things done including trying to get exit financing of 100 million dollars and make loan repayments, and this is the slow season, with most of our calls only "free" frequent flyer ticket calls...

 It has Been AWARD HELL!!!!!!!!!! International awards on any carrier but US!!!!! It has become a real challange working the phones the past 3 weeks!!!!!!!

I feel really bad for ya'll. I meant to ask earlier if you have split sales and service.
Nice suprise at HP this week. First of all our office in RNO closed because of the snow storm from H333 and even sent us home early a couple of other nights. Even called us at home and gave us a phone number to call and see when we'd open. Nice of them--could even take a vacation day or floating holiday too. Then we really worked hard to get ourselves up and running and our sups put together a really nice dinner for us of chili. AND to boot the company gave every employee a check for $50.00. Sure beats cookies or cheese. AND it was a suprise--we never expected it.
Good luck to all---either INT or PIT. It's not slow at all here for real seats===only 1 FFD call all day.

Forgive me, but I have been reading your posts over the past year, and they strike me as obnoxious. You always start your posts with, "I feel really bad, and end them with "good luck." etc. Then you go on with your drivel of how WONDERFUL lilfe is at HP. THey treat you so much better, They baked us chili, sure beats cheese. Sounds either like you are trying to convince yourself that you made the right decision, or you are trying to rub your (suposed) great job in to others at U. I find you pseudo-sympathy quite condescening and annoying.

drifterreno

I enjoy your posts. I think it is enlightning to hear from another airline employee. Especially from one of our own. I am glad to hear that there are still some airlines who value thier employees. I don't think your post are condesending at all. Keep us posted. 🙂

Yeah, there are alot of hypocrites that post here from the other carriers. They SAY how concerned they are but then they rub sh!t in our face. No one airline MORE than AWA should understand this kind of BS. Perhaps all posters should step back , look at their own company's inadequacies, and stop trying to blame the ills of the industry on US Airways.

EXACTLY!

Driftereno is a really great person who retired from usairways Res several years ago and had to get another job.
She has posted that her salary over there is less than half of what we make.
So take it with a grain of salt.

I know a lot of former workers are bitter after being furloughed or moved too many times, but most of them appreciated their experience and benefits
at usairways.

We all know that working under these bankruptcies, pay cuts and worker shortages are a nightmare. Hopefully things will get better for us within a year or so, or maybe some of us will be into our new jobs and careers.
