Richard Anderson said we'll be hearing shortly about pay increases coming in 2009. Richard made the announcement as he welcomed new listeners to his weekly Right from Richard message.
"We're still working out final details, but there will be a pay increase for all nonpilot work groups at Delta beginning Jan. 1. So stay tuned," Richard said.
In other news this week, Richard mentioned the expanded senior leadership team for the company, including Steve Gorman as chief operating officer and Hank Halter as chief financial officer. He also noted that Ed Bastian has gotten off to a fast start in his new responsibilities in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
"[Ed] met with employees for several hours last week, and you'll be seeing him all over the Delta system in the coming months," Richard said. "He'll be getting to Detroit and Memphis to meet employees and community leaders. And he'll be hitting nonhub stations as well, so keep an eye out for him."
