I think you should direct your anger elsewhere. AA is not the enemy. US and AA do not really compete against each other.

Since both AA and CO fly fairly small gauge aircraft compared to their competitors, any LCC incursions in markets that are already served by multiple frequencies will be highly dilutionary.

I'm afraid that this statement doesn't make sense to me. Unlike DL, AA has not turned markets over to RJ components of the company wholesale. Granted there has been a growth by AE, post -9/11, but...

The smallest aircraft that AA flies today is the MD-80 with 132 seat configuration. And, IIRC, CO's smallest a/c is the 737-200--don't know the seating config.

I doubt seriously that JetBlue or any of the other LCCs will be attracted to most of the markets that AE serves. The reason that AE flies DFW to College Station, TX instead of AA is because that is the only airplane that the market will support.

But, even looking at the AE flights with longer stage length, I don't think that JetBlue is going to move into the XNA-LAX market currently "controlled" by AE.

For B6 the honeymoon is over, the 5 year tax exempt status is over. The brand new A/C are showing some wear, and are in need of expensive overhaul. There is also grumblings in the employee ranks about the need for unions. Let em go head to head with AA, they need a punch in the nose.

As far as HP goes, c'mon over to DFW tough guy. Bring your smelly cattle cars that are maintained by scribbles on napkins. HP is like a spoiled child, look what they are trying to pull in Seattle. Throw in this Love Field debate over the Wright Amendment - how about playing by the rules already in place. People are starting to get sick of this brat airline, they aren't so fun anymore!

Uh...I think you are confusing HP which is America West airline with Southwest Airlines whose code is WN.
