I heard a rumor that the US west group has recalled their chairman and wants to have a separate contract negotiation rather than a joint agreement. In essence, two separate carriers under one brand. Is this true... and if so, why?

Probably just management disinformation...divide the two groups and get them at each other's throats. Sorry Otis, ain't gonna happen. Have another drink.

Lot of heat coming down on a member of alpa East jnc as well concerning issues of getting a bit tooo cozy with mgt.

Getting? He's so cozy with management I wouldn't be surprised if he had an office in the sand castle now. I know he had one in Crystal City.

Didn't Doug say that he would operate the airline with 2 different labor contracts if they couldn't come to agreement on one?

WARNING!! WARNING WARNING DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!

Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

I don't think Pete was singing about the weak people like those running ALPA.

A more appropriate quote reflective of the two last presidents of ALPA is this quote attributed to the moron-in-chief, Dubya.
"There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."
Yeah, you go get 'im, bushwhacker.

A certain BOS pilot rep, like a chicken with its head cut off, is running amok again, screaming to "get a deal, any deal". So, how many times do the pilots in BOS get "fooled again"?

Actually it is Roger daultry who sings that song. That is the one famed for his trademark, "Twirling The Microphone" around by its chord.

Recall attempt...True. Reasons? too many to list.

Wanting separate contracts under one brand....I believe that is false.

In essence I think the two pilot groups (east and west) would like to see a good contract put out for a vote. They guys in the west don't feel that their current reps are willing to negotiate what they want. Some allegations that some are too buddy buddy with management. The 8:30 rest proposal is a big hot topic out here. The west MEC is saying that east pilots are all on board in regards to 8:30 rest. I'd be curious to know if that is even true.

Just my 2 cents via jumpseat gossip. Take it for what it's worth and know that it's with out union spin. It's just what I have heard numerous pilots say on many occasions. I personally hope that they get their acts together and hold the company's feet to the fire. If they don't we may all be doomed. Let's face it, historically speaking, pilot talks/contracts tend to impact how other work groups may fare.

It's not our chairman but our Coucil 62 (PHX) reps that are up for recall.

Splitting off negotiations from the East is a seperate issue. It's about leverage. Right now the West is negotiating outside of Section 6 meaning there can never be a strike. Since we're past our amendable date we have the option of beginning Section 6 negotiations but it's unclear how that would actually help us obtain a combined contract. It's complicated.
