but when people are lying and cheating and they happen to be in office, they are more than likely pulling a multitude of stunts at the same time..

I don't know the answer to that. I do believe that what someone does in the privacy of their home or what ever takes place between consenting adults is none of my concern.

As far as a POTUS is concerned, they cannot act alone. They have and administration that must support them and they have two houses of Congress and a SCOTUS that they must contend with as well. So in order for a corrupt POTUS to do something they must get all the other corrupt bastards to go along with them. Since they are all out for their own self interest, that tends to at the very least slow things down a bit. Any political stunts they pull will be in the public eye at one point or another.

As far as Ms Palin being number one, this country has the attention span of a ant and the intelligence to match. They went nuts over Jackson's funeral. They watch a show about some slut and her now ex-husband and their 6 or 8 kids (I forgot how many) and the list goes on. So pardon me if I don't care that Palin has a book out. I would be surprised if she speaks at the '12 convention. Her political career is toast since she walkedout of the Gov office half way through her term.

when these politicians take it to the point they are doing "things" in office or what I would consider the workplace, lying and covering it up..pulling stunts..

turning around lying about something.. someone is doing "on the job" in many instances is a terminating offense for just about anybody else in the workplace but its no-one's business when its in political office...

That is not what I said. What I said was that the people in this country are easily distracted and not overly bright when it comes to world events and politics. This level of intelligence is not dependent on which side of the political spectrum their lack of intelligence falls. There was something on the news last week about only 23% of students in OK knowing who the "father of the nation" was. Also, there are far to many people who read something on the web and think it's true just because it is on the web. Freedom and Dapoes are notorious for it.

There are lots of individuals who I do not care for but I am still able to carry on a conversation about them so I fail to see what one has to do with the other. I don't care for Bush 44, Cheney, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton (either one), Sec Watt, Meese ... but I would be more than willing to have a conversation regarding any of them.

Also, I do not see how the status of her book has any relevance to her political career. I was merely pointing out that she was a political figure and that her future as a politician (elected that is) is more than likely over due to her quitting half way through her first term as Gov. She may have input behind the scenes but I suspect that is as far as it ill go.


Again, morals are fluid. What you consider moral someone else may not. Personally I do not feel that cutting funding for unwed mothers while at the same time promoting abstinence only is very moral much less smart. Especially in light of the fact that neither her or her daughter were able to practice what she preached.
