How can a person, who gave the worst concessions in labor history, get "elected" vice-president of the AFL-CIO? The fox is definitely in the hen house now! AMR management now controls most of the labor movement. No wonder the Teamsters bailed out. The race to the bottom just got turbocharged.

Looks like Burchette's finally gonna move up. They promised him a promotion if he would dry out.

All union International Presidents who's union are part of the AFL-CIO are VPs of the AFL-CIO and sit on its executive board.

IE. IP of the IAM Tom Buffenbarger is also a VP of the AFL-CIO.

Its just the way big business wants it PK, they got the afl-cio neutered, and having AA management's Jimmy Do-little is just the cherry on the do-nothing sundae.

Princess take a look at the site below now that is worst concessions in labor history.

Your off by about 25 years twu bubba. The AMFA membership voted to end the strike, plain and simple. If it was the twu International, it would have been "without further ratification" and no vote allowed, or a tainted one at best.

You remember that Jimmy Do-little statement don't you???

The twu would have also folded like a cheap card table before any type of fight took place. All mAAnagement has to do is threaten the twu dues machine, and the twu tail tucks and runs.

Why hasn't AMFA decertified at NWA? Why do they represent scabs? One would think it would be embarassing to AMFA to still be the "bargaining agent" with this contract in place at NWA.

This is simply about the TWU IN TULSA controlling the the whole situation. Their sheer numbers decide what happens. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

As long as AA continues to keep TULSA up and running, Burchette and Co. will continue to share the bed with AA.

Wouldn't that be a question for the NWA board, or better yet e-mail the national. No one on this board has any decertifying powers.

Maybe its so the iam doesn't get in? Scabs are welcome in the iam as you know. Really though, I don't know. Scabs don't pay dues, so they are unrepresented. Right? Also Scab Air is no longer a closed shop. Like AMFAMAN stated, take your question to AMFA National, let us all know the answer smart guy.

The only thing a union to ever be embarrassed about is to never fight for their membership, and give mAAnagement whatever they want, for 25 years. Like the twu does.

Wrong,

In an open shop the union must represent the non-members even though they don't pay dues.

Yes, that is technically correct. However, if I were in trouble and needed help, I would rather be a supporter of the union. There is a wide range of quality in represententation.
