WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is calling on US Airways to reconsider flight cuts to Las Vegas. He describes the cutbacks as shortsighted.
The flight cuts could lead to a loss of 400 jobs. Reid says that would have a detrimental impact on a region already suffering from high unemployment.

"The Nevada senator is calling for Parker to delay service cuts until he is briefed on alternatives available to the airline."

Interesting opportunity here. Maybe US Airways can become United States Airways in a government takeover. President Obama could name Doug Parker as "The Airline Czar" and Unites States Airlines could receive $10's of billions of dollar at the asking.

I have been accused of being a flaming liberal but honestly, I would like to see Harry Reid run a successful airline. Would you invest in Harry Reid Air? I think he has more important things to worry about (like his political survival).

First of all it's unfortunate that his name is Harry. Isn't he the one who is being criticized for his Obama comments? You know, something about he got elected because he is light skinned?

Vegas has never been a money maker for us, has it? It's like Orlando with its $69 fares
