What's new

SENIORITY

as a us f/a based in phl. i hope it is strictly doh for the delta f/a's. no one should be stapled to the bottom . that is just not fair. delta f/a have worked long and hard to protect thier seniority as have the us f/a's so everyone should get their doh. to our new proposed colleagues as delta i say welcome and i cannot wait to work with you guys soon. remember that we as employees have no say so in any of this. it's a roller coaster ride that we have to endure so might as well sit back relax and enjoy the ride cause it's a gonna be a bumpy one.

Yeah right! USAIR people will be crying STAPLE!,STAPLE! soon enough! All I can say is all the non-union folks at Delta fixing to get a lot of love from USAIR.

Sorry Princess,

No one at USAir will be thinking along those lines. It's too foreign to us.

Who are you trying to kid? When it comes down to a vote at the union hall whether to dovetail or staple. You will vote to staple or if you do vote to dovetail you will be in a small minority.

Princess, put down the crack pipe!!

1988--USAir buys PSA DOH given
1989--USAir buys Piedmont DOH given
1999--USAir buys Trump Shuttle DOH given for BOTH TS and Eastern years
2005--US Airways and AWA merge DOH to be honored

What part of DOH are you missing?

Delta folks have nothing to worry about. I would be willing to bet my life that IF....and that's a big IF this happens, the Delta f/a's WILL get DOH.

Anyway, why are you stirring the pot? And what the hell do you care?

BEWARE DELTA EMPLOYEES OF THE SHIIIIT STIRRERS WHO ARE HERE TO CAUSE BAD BLOOD EITHER BECAUSE THEY ARE JEALOUS,FEARFUL, OR JUST A LOOSER!!

We all know you guys at Delta do not want us to merge with you and most of us know you guys have a low opinion of US, but IF this were to happen, I promise you, our history and record speaks for itself in being fair where DOH is concerned. Many of us have our opinions, but as long as the majority of AFA supports DOH, you will be fine. The last attempt to change this FAILED!!

Well I see the DOH frenzy has begun. Just a quick question to shine the light in just a slightly different direction.

If/When DAL surrenders positions on the east coast to smooth the way through DOJ, do you all think its going to be 50/50 when it comes time for layoffs?

LCC-#1,

What part am I missing about DOH ??

Well for starters, all of those benevolent DOH scenario's that you offered, involved UNIONS at both companys !

DL has NO UNION.
DL (majority) has NEVER wanted a UNION
DL will HAVE NO SAY.

But US IS union, and despite ALL the benevolent talk, 50%+ of US f/a's WILL vote for a staple.

Now DL has MORE F/A's, but the portion of DL F/a's that HAVE wanted a Union, WILL ally with the US F/A's, therefore keeping the "new airline" F/a's unionized.
End result......Staple.

(Maybe you should take a "toke" on the ol' Crack Pipe)

Sounds like a slam dunk for DOH, as it should be.

Sounds like a slam dunk for DOH, as it should be.

The first thing that the DAL employees should be concerned about is if the buyout includes the employees. I haven't seen any wording that addresses this issue. Hostile takeovers can produce "interesting" results.

The AFA is to be commended for its DOH stance. However, when the seniority of the acquired carrier is greatly senior to that of the acquiring carrier, I believe a % slotting is fair. There should also be no furlough language in place to address layoff of surviving carriers most junior.

You will most likely receive comments from the AA f/as on their position of staple, and dump. Consider the source. They have not one iota of remorse for the loss of nearly 6000 f/as due to their union's inept negotiating skills in concession talks after 9-11. They were "lucky" to have a furlough cushion of ALL of the TWA f/as to protect them. Now men and women with up to 49 years of seniority have lost everything.

Good luck to ALL and this announcement is worked out with stock holders and the Gov. Many of us wish you all a smooth integration and financial health.
