From The Street.Com tonight........(my boldface)

"The carrier also said it will delay a move to a single operating certificate, once planned for June, until it completes a migration to a single reservations system. The migration caused operational disruptions in early March, and it continues to delay airport processing. "It's a regulatory requirement [and] there's no reason to rush it," President Scott Kirby said. "

Uhh...wasn't that the whole point of screwing up the system by instituting that retarded QIK/SHARES?

Either it's still not finished (which wouldn't surprise me), or maybe Tempe is considering reverting back to SABRE (highly unlikely, unless there is some way to prepare crow that makes it taste pretty good).

Amadeus should have been installed system-wide. Wonder if that could ever be an option.

Maybe. I know nothing about Amadeus, but if it left SABRE in the dust, then I'd probably have zero problem with it.

QIK/SHARES is dust. Annoying and requiring cleanup.

Wasn't it to be the standard res system for Star Alliance? US wants to be *A, let's act like *A. So far, we are the sap in the *A family tree. US is a lot like JJ in "Good Times". He yells "Kid Dynomite" and everyone laughs at him for the jive fool that he is.

I thought we already migrated to a single reservations system.

We did , if you can call the biggest POS in airline history a res system. To call it res system is an insult to true systems like Sabre/Amadeus/Apollo. It's well past time to bury this piece refuse and return to a real system capable handling our operation. Parker admits he know we have a problem. All the fixes in the universe can not fix Shares and make it work. The only sensible and logical conclusion is it's elimination and tossing it on the trash heap of failed corporate decisions. Eat the crow and bring back Sabre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A pilot told me that even though we converted to SHARES for everything else, we still use SABRE for weight and balance. On May 15th we are switching over to SHARES for that. So look out!!

Hearing that may be delayed until the Fall and may have something to do with the single certification.

We are not switching to shares on the ops side. We are changing the west side to sabre. The west ops system has proved to be incapable of handling the east operation. This can also be said on the wastside as well but the other way around . Shares has proved itself incapable of handling the east operation.

I believe the major reason for the delay is in large part due to on going contract negotiations between the pilots and the flight attendants. It would make sense to have everyone happy and on one contract before the 2 operating certificates are combined.

The West is switching to automated W/B on May 16.
This is a Sabre function.

SABRE was canned because they could get rid of it (Bankruptcy court contract cancellation ), SHARES was kept because they couldn't get rid of it (Legal and binding contract). End of story.

So you are saying that the West uses SHARES to do W/B?
