Was looking over the stations for fleet that may be outsourced. What will happen to those employees whose stations do get outsourced, RIC and ALB, for example. Separated from the company with no benefits or apply at MDA or what? This really stinks, especially for those with 5-10 yrs seniority!

Dude, most of the employees in the outsourced stations have 20+ years of seniority.

Well, first the mechs will throw the ato's under the bus. Then, the 7 focus ato's will throw the rest of the ato's under the bus.

And, it will be a 'you don't have time to think about it, just vote' rush job.

Those rampers will be given the opportunity to bump into any of the class 1 or 2 cities, and especially those class 1 cities with large amounts of vacancies like PHL and DCA.

Not so - fleet does not have bumping rights.

We can displace the junior employees on the system, but we cannot bump into the city of our choice.

Assume you're a 30 year agent, and are in an outsourced station. You would prefer to go to CLT, but if the company does not create openings there, or if the junior agents do not work there, you don't get to go there.

If the junior agent is in PHL (UGH!), that is the 30 year agent's 'option'.

Simplified, but the gist of it.

Anyone with the company HAS paid their dues, regardless if he/she has only been with the company 5-10 years; the only difference is we may have not paid AS MUCH as those ahead with more seniority, but, yes, all have paid their dues.

A p/t fleet service employee, although their station is being outsourced, could knock off the most junior guy in the system where mainline service is...<correct? regardless of the city?

The scope clause indicated "may outsource" those stations mentioned. Does it mean they will do that to each and every city under Class 2 stations?

At least ALPA threw junior members under the bus.

With the outsourcing proposals at 141, the IAM is throwing senior members under the bus.

Hopefully they will show up in some of those Class 1 cities that threw them under the Bus to begin with.

For those senior agents in the 'southern division', I seriously doubt CLT will be in their severance packet.

Yes. Outsourcing and furloughs are reaching deep into the seniority lists and there appears to be no end in sight. It is expected that the next round of consessions will result in the outsourcing or furlough of retirees.

Huh?

At USAir there are plenty of people who have voted to throw the retirees under the bus too. There doesn't appear to be point were one can be considered to have paid their dues, unless you are in tight with the senior mgt.

.
Hey man, I liked that. Furlough of retirees? Made me laugh for the first time in days.

A lot of the stations on the "outsource list" have very high seniority. These employees are going to be on the street unemployeed. That is the game plan, and the IAM seems to be going along with it. After all, the IAM has really made it a difficult task for these stations to really be a part of their local. Most have to drive hours to get to their local lodge (which is usually controlled by maint.) Face it. How many of the citieds on this outsource list have their own local? IAM didn't really want F/S....they just wanted our dues. I am seriously thinking about filling out "dues objector" papers IF contract voted in, until I am put on the street.
./
I am willing to bet that IAM will NOT take a stand and say vote YES or NO on this contract. They WILL say....ah, this isn't our contract, ah, this is the companies proposal. We, ah, didn't agree to it, but, ah, we wanted YOU to decide what to do, so we, ah, agreeded to let you vote on it. Then, ah, we can say, that ah, YOU made the choice. We, ah, sure are sorry that, ah, yall got screwed! We did our best!

I hope that the IAM could at least have a postion (who is gonna at least be a union now that the pilots and F/As rolled over) but I am not too hopefull really.
