It's kind of interesting that 1/3 of the SOC Employees are voting for CLT.

I have a gut feeling that's where SOC will go.

Don't have the passenger numbers at my fingertips, but CLT has more mainline flights than any other hub. PHX doesn't have any WO'd flights, only Mesa.

between PHX and CLT, which city has more operations & passenger movements.. including the WO's?
CLT has a lot of more operations, but that won't have any bearing at all on the final decision.

Let's see. The State of North Carolina (along with Winston-Salem and Forsyth County) gave Dell Computers a corporate welfare break amounting to nearly $300 million. $300 million for 700 jobs with pay in the range of $27K per year. I can only hope my home state will look at this package seeing as that it will come in nearly $250 million less than the Dell plant.

Personally all SOC ops should just be transfered to the folks out east in their current location. From what I have heard, they actually know how to run an airline.
So it seems you're implying the people that work in PHX SOC DON'T know how to run an airline? No, I'm not talking about management in Tempe .I'm talking about the employees in SOC. Why exactly do you think they can't run an airline?

RJH, What he really means is that soc needs to move, because they are the ones that know how run it.

Mainly that their crew scheduling can run an airline without tagging.

Well they do not use tagging and they run an international airline in a part of the country that sees lots of blizzards and hurricanes ... one thunderstorm in PHX and all he11 breaks loose.
Well let's see: the west CONTRACT allows tagging, and it is done when there are a limited number of reserves available to cover open trips. Those are issues related to the contract and staffing . .both are things that crew schedulers and SOC personnel have no control over. I don't know if hte east contract allows tagging or not, but based on other posts I have read here, the reserves back east rarely get to their minimum guarantee.

All hell breaks loose when a thunderstorm hits PHX? How so . .with delays, airborne holding, and diversoins? Umm .that happens when a thunderstorm hits ANYWHERE. Airplanes don't do very well when they try to land during a thunderstorm. Define "hell breaking loose".
