AA flies MCI to STL 8 times a day for a LIT connection, and 10 times daily to DFW. Last flight leaves MCI 7:40 PM.

You must have missed the memo...Effective very soon, AA will not offer any service between MCI and STL - it's being pulled.

As a very frequent business traveler, one of the biggest advantages WN has over JetBlue and most of the HCC is frequency of flight. If you fly within TX,FL or CA you can bet at a minimum hourly flights on a nonRJ jet with overhead space. If you live in a non hub airport, KC for example, most likely you can get a nonstop or 1 stop direct flight with high frequency without having to go through a HCC hub. I would rather be on the ground for a quick 30 minute direct flight than a balanced hub 2 hour layover.

Sure, frequency is greater in a few markets, but consider these:

WN MCI-JAX a whole three times a day, two of which connect in BNA, and one connects in MDW plus another stop. Last call is 2:25 PM! Talk about a short business day.

On Delta, you could leave as early as 5:20 AM or as late as 7:10 PM. 6 flights from MCI to DFW, 6 to CVG, and 8 to ATL.

Or how about LIT? Also three times a day, all with a STL connection. Last call is 3:20 PM. Wow, an extra hour compared to JAX!

AA flies MCI to STL 8 times a day for a LIT connection, and 10 times daily to DFW. Last flight leaves MCI 7:40 PM.

No, it's not. DL 5764 MCI-CVG 7:10 PM-9:45 PM, then DL 5437 CVG-JAX 10:55 PM-12:40 AM.

It's odd that from their website, that flight isn't shown under "flight schedules".

So? There's still 10 AA flights to DFW.

I agree that you don't need high frequency of non-stops. My point is that WN offers NO service at all after 3:00 PM.

On the flip side of that JS...Delta's last flight from MCI to JAX is 12:15 p.m.

You have to choose a time period in the evening to pull up the later flights. In non-stop markets, choosing no particular time period will give you all the flights for the day, but in connecting markets, choosing no time period defaults to morning.

Flying between KC and Little Rock with a DFW connection does not seem to offer much of a time advantage over driving.
Assuming one arrives at MCI 90 minutes before departure time, it would take at least five hours for the trip, given an hour connection.
According to my AAA atlas, it's only 390 road miles.
At a 60 mph average speed (probably low), you're looking at 6 1/2 hours.

What Atlas is AAA usine? I live in the souther reaches of the KC Area and my mom lives in the Richardson/North Dallas area, and my odometer consistantly shows 460 miles (and thats on the "short" route). All in all, about 8 hours. Two stepping thru OKC or TUL takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, but AA via STL AND LIT takes a lot longer.

KC--You misread my post. Kansas City to Little Rock is 390 miles. KC to Dallas is listed as 512 road miles.
