Here's an article about Southwest Effect working internationally:

The company’s much-bragged about “Southwest Effect” of lowering fares in new markets it enters has seemed to play out internationally, with average prices from the U.S. falling about 25 percent, or $155, according to a 2016 analysis of selected routes by FareCompare.

Here's a real good independant company doing research on the Southwest Effect still working. This article also shows just how effective and how important Southwest is to the DFW market. Fares were 25% lower even at DFW Airport where Southwest doesn't even have one single flight from. So, I forget who it was that challenged me after my first "Southwest Effect" still working post, but here you go, it's still working. And BTW, it is also working internationally as well.

So-called 'Southwest Effect' alive and well
