Southwest starts new focus campaign on Atlanta...

This ain't good.... Now were going to have to listen to all of WN's faults... Time to sit back AAer's, the heat should be off of yall for a while, there could be a major unhinging about to start..

15 second commercials with employees making little heart gestures is going to move the ATL market?

Doubt it... but the best part is that statistics in time will show whether it worked or not.

Ads are good, flights are cheap, and SWA is going after ATL travelers.  Will be interesting...

WN is not going to grow in ATL again. I'm sorry if that breaks your heart but they knew full well when they gave up markets in ATL, they were gone forever.

This statement is breathtaking from somebody who was probably an employee at DL over the time period where a carrier like Valujet/Airtran grew its netowork in DLs home base of ATL at the expense of DL!!! (I won't even mention Song vs B6 at JFK).
Yet now he'd like you to believe that WN is doomed!

WN still has a fairly decent schedule from ATL... 125 flights, most with at least 3x daily

If they wanted to up the ante a bit, I can see about a dozen markets where there's room to throw another frequency or two.

Yup, and here we come.  Good news to finally see the focus on ATL which was actually one of the reasons to do the AT purchase.  It will be interesting to see how much focus will be aimed at ATL and how far it will go.  At one time it was mentioned that ATL would become the largest city in the network. Even larger than BWI, and others.  The past pull back from ATL before was due to moving aircraft to other major focus cities before as SWA could not get aircraft from Boeing quick enough.  Now that SWA is all over the world picking up used aircraft, maybe this will help the ATL growth now.  This will get interesting as we go foward, I do know that ATL was one of the major reasons to purchase AT, as I have said before...

no one doubted that WN still has a decent schedule in a number of cities.

now take the list from PIT down and tell us how many flights DL offers and how WN has done in other markets where it has offered flights at a schedule disadvantage as it will from ATL compared to DL.

and note that in several of those cities, such as SFO, WN is not only offering that little service compared to DL but is also competing against other carriers.

And as usual to fit the biased DL rules the world narrative, he conveniently fails to acknowledge the WN operation across the bay in OAK.
Whole Truth, right?

there is no nonstop service from ATL to OAK... and if there ever has been, it has been on DL.

and if you want to include other SFO area airports, DL does serve ATL-SJC
