Delta to give pay hikes, bonuses
No. 3 airline promises employees they will be rewarded when carrier emerges from bankruptcy.

Everyone is gettin payraises except US ... well management and folks in the corporate office got raises, just not the line folks.....
 
I thank my lucky stars every day that Tempe failed miserably in their hostile takeover attempt of DAL. Just look at the clusterf..k when they tried to merge HP/US Air ticketing. It would have been Armageddon trying to get DAL and LCC on the same page.

Wheels soon will be 'up' for compensation programs

Delta employees will begin to see how the company is going to reward them for their hard work once we emerge from bankruptcy. A brochure entitled "Previewing Your Rewards," is being mailed to the homes of Delta employees in the U.S. this week. International and Delta Technology employees will have access to electronic versions of the brochure.

The brochure outlines the elements of our post-emergence compensation and benefits plans, including lump sum cash payments, pay increases, stock ownership, profit sharing, the continued Shared Rewards program and new retirement benefits.

"Delta's transformation is a remarkable success story from a bankrupt company nearly out of cash to a company that some speculate will once again be the industry leader - and that is certainly our goal," said Jerry Grinstein. "From the outset, we've said a bedrock principle of that transformation is that Delta people will benefit from the success your hard work helped make possible."

A more detailed DVD will be mailed later this month and personalized compensation statements will be mailed in April. Pilots will receive their communications separately.

1. Stock Ownership: For the vast majority of Delta employees, we will give you actual shares of common stock-not stock options-that will have the same value as you will hear reported in the news once we emerge.........

2. Cash lump sum: ....... a lump sum payment representing a percentage of your pay.

3. Profit Sharing:....... When we have a annual per-tax profit, you will receive a cash payment early the following year.

4. Shared Rewards: ......pays up to $100 per month for achieving goals such as being in the top three for on-time rates..........

5. Pay: ...moving towards industry standard pay structure....... including AA, CO, NW, US, UA, AT, JB, SW..... we’ll take the first step in that direction this summer-and officers and directors won't have any across-the-board pay increases until all those steps are complete.

6. Retirement: Delta will make automatic contribution to an account for you, and match money that you choose to save...............Benefits that you have already earned under our frozen plan will be preserved and Delta will contribute to the plan until it is fully funded. This is over and above the contributions we will be making to your new defined contribution plan.

It's been said that Tempe would ruin a ONE Car funeral at this point......they would probably drive to Surprise, AZ and get a look at themselves in a Mirror usually found in a FUNHOUSE at an amusement park....you know the wavy, distorted enhanced images. :lol:
