That is a maybe, women adding 18 years of debt to the United States AFTER they go on welfare is a for sure. You can "what if" something to death if you want to.SparrowHawk said:Maybe us giving her food stamps and housing allowed her the time to correct the errors in her life and go on to raise spectacular children?
Then why are we having this conversation?SparrowHawk said:Do I think it is the place of government to reach out to the Tamika's of the world? NO, I do not.
Then again, why are we having this conversation?SparrowHawk said:I think about what I have paid in taxes to date and how much more good I could do if I spent that money with some charities and it makes me angry.
Women that choose to have several children AFTER going on welfare are unlikely to "escape" government dependency. In fact they are almost ensuring they don't.SparrowHawk said:Suppose our "help" allows Tamika to use her parenting skills and start a small day care and eventually escapes the clutches of government assistance? What then?
Not being able to close your legs is not a "parenting skill", it is a lack of good judgement. Do you think people want someone that routinely shows bad judgement to watch their kids? Do you know how ridiculous you sound?
You mean Democrats are using welfare to "buy" votes and fund the socialist agenda?SparrowHawk said:I never accepted any of the stuff I was qualified for. WHY? Because I could see it was like crack cocaine with little of the downside. The government has been very successful at creating a permanent underclass that must vote the status quo in order to eat.
Yeah I already knew that. Thanks.
