He has no reasoning or logic, only justification.eolesen said:So, you're OK giving up on something you're not vested in, but still don't want to give up on Medicare or Social Security?
Seems to me the hypocrisy label you're so quick to put on La di da may be a bit misplaced.
SparrowHawk said:It's not his fault or mine that you ended up where you are. Like me you need only to look in the mirror to see who is ultimately responsible for our respective positions in life.. EVERYBODY (With notable exceptions for those who are born mentally or physically challenged) comes in to the world naked and leaves in a box or urn. What that individual does in between is largely at their own hand.
OTOH you see envy and jealousy and seek blame for your situation.
SparrowHawk said:I AM to blame for my current situation, I should have anticipated the downsizing and made plans for more education and made more of an effort to retrain and rebrand myself. I should have never gotten involved with a reformed heroin addict. I did and now I pay the price. Actions like elections have consequences.
You do realize that the SS workers pay goes towards the pensions of those that are retired? There needs to be a certain level of fairness. If you stopped those programs instantly you'd collapse the economy and possibly starve an entire generation.
Philosophically, It never should have been created and implemented. Same for the latest and not so greatest program called ObamaCare

You really don't know my situation since I've never really talked about it. Therefore you are making assumptions.
If you must know I've never collected unemployment. The occasions I have gotten pink slips in this industry I've been able to transfer or have a job waiting for me. Having worked with guys who were employed by companies such as Eastern, Braniff, Pan Am, TWA etc I knew early on not to depend solely on an airline pension. So when some of my coworkers would go out any by toys I would put the money into a 401K and a Roth.
May I suggest running for Congress. Then you could be sanctimonious as you want and not have to worry about any of your wishes coming true.

You should have. Then you wouldn't have to worry about things like health insurance or retirement.

I'd NEVER run as a Republican or Democrat. That leaves Libertarian ans ....

...Why should I even respect you? It ain't like you've ever directly and personally put your pathetic little pink arse on the line for anything (IE: Win= Live/Lose =Die)...

Best joke I've seen in a long time. Most politicians would cower in fear and cry for their mommies at the very first experience of any serious "contact". Everyone can be "tough" by distanced typing. You offer the masked avatar of a hooded terrorist....so how many times have you been shot at?...Ever even fought?/etc? 😉 I'd take far less exception if you didn't so arrogantly presume to be the face of all Libertarians here, btw. We're not all pretentious buffoons and only wannabe "tough guys", and by no measure do masked terrorists ever amount to such...even in the internet/Fantasyland.
No matter: To most of the posters here: Thanks for the evening's laughs, enjoy your fantasies, and take care/be well/etc. None of our collective nonsense here makes a bit of difference anyway. 🙂
