Q. We’re coming up on the end of the first complete year of our frequent flier programs being merged. I'm interested to know if our number of Preferred members is growing or not.
A. You read our minds! We are planning to do a full recap in an upcoming issue of AboutUS recapping the year for Dividend Miles. We’ll have lots of information, but rest assured, no one is flying the coop- in fact our preferred member numbers (Silver through Chairman’s Preferred) have increased year over year.

Why ask a question and then answer it? RAH RAH.

Better to ask how much revenue has been raised from frequent fliers compared to previous years.

Not that those numbers wouldn't be cooked to show what a wonderful job management is doing, when they could suck the muffler off of an Escalade.

Yeah chairmans being replaced with FAKE chairmans. How about this NEW status they are creating that the current CP's are not eligible for? Hmmmmmm? Smoke and mirrors folks, smoke and mirrors. Our top tier FF's not leaving is total BS.

Don't forget the unknown number that got free gold this year supposedly due to an error.

Uh....anyone that believes Elites aren't leaving is high....on crack....there are SO many ways to "attain" it now....

There's the old fashioned way, fly it
There's the new fangled way, buy it by purchasing crap through partners
There's the *A way....fly other carriers and accrue on US (How I did it this year)
There's the "challenge" way....tell US you want it, for a fee, get Gold and then fly enough over 90 days to get it
There's the outright "buy it" way....just pay for it, $7,500.
Lets see.....surely I'm missing some way the company has watered down the program....

Bottom line....I'm sure other airlines have some, if not all of these programs.....but I fly most of the airlines...and I've NEVER been offered one of these fake ways to do it.

The spin cycle at the Sand Castle will make it look good....but the financial community is starting to wise up.

4th qtr will be fun to see....and then 1st qtr....

Bottom line....as more then one "analyst" have said via observation: "US can't attract valuable business revenue any longer."

NO SH*T SHERLOCK?!?!? REALLY???

LOL

Goodness.....those of us who have watched this airline spin miserably out of control and put out the WORST product amongst all the majors are completely.....NOT SURPRISED???

Sounds like this was taken right out of the Hillary campaign guide book on debate Q&A.

Well someone's filling the seats?

Strong 2007 Financial Performance

• YTD reported pretax income (excluding special items) of $485 million

• Consolidated unit revenue (PRASM) growth of 3.0 percent YTD

• Unit costs relatively low versus competition

• Cash balance high

– Total cash of $3.1 billion, $2.7 billion unrestricted

– Strategic refinancing has resulted in low debt amortization until 2014

How do you classify a CP going to silver? I am still in the program, but at a much lower level.

How do they fill seats? I thought of booking on US and found a $74.00 TPA-MHT. on next Friday @ 5 PM (other throughout the day as well). I can't beleive that they actually post fares like that and expect to make money.

However, the web page telling me the "best" would be $489.00 on UNited. That is on another carrier (No or little revenue for US), a longer flight through ORD. and 7 time more expensive than the lowest fare on US.

Maybe, the web page knew they loose money on the $74.00 and suggested the UA fare because the commission earned on the fare is positive cash than the loss on the $74.00 is negative cash.

With all of that stupidity, I booked on CO. And that is why they are loosing CPs. You can't rely on US.

And I guess that was my point. Just who IS filling the seats? 485 million in pre tax profit is a measure of past performance and NOT an indicator of future results.

Depending on Economic conditions, fuel, Labor and the completion of the roll out of US's "Busines Casual" approach, over the next 6 to 9 months we'll have our answer. IMO the Marketplace will render it's verdict on US Airways by end of Q4 at the latest.

Hey, maybe in our screwed up world their screw the customers and employees approach to business will prove to be successful over time. I doubt it but stranger things have happened.

You act like a scorned X wife  . Seems like you're on a one man smear campaign. Hey, theres a presidential campaign just around the corner, doesn't Hillary need another volunteer to help her smear her opponents?

I really don't care what happens here, I have no dog in this fight, my future is secure. But I have, in the past, enjoyed reading this board, but now days a few have hijacked it to a point that most creditable user have moved on. I hate to see it. Same ole :censored: over and over. :jerry:

Pleaseeeee go chat on which ever board belongs to your airline of choice ..... get on with your life man! :glare:
