AA sure screwed up STL. TWA used to run 4 or 5 727's (full) back and forth to LIT.
And TWA is where???AA sure screwed up STL. TWA used to run 4 or 5 727's (full) back and forth to LIT.
And TWA is where???
By properly allocating it's assets (aircraft to routes), AA is avoiding TWA's fate. AA has been making profits.Forever in the hearts of it's employees, loyal passengers, and aviation enthusiasts around the globe. I seriously hope that American Airlines would be remembered as fondly by so many, if it ever shared the same unfortunate fate. What do you think?
<_< ----- jimntx, your talking out of your backside! Cutting these flights proves nothing! You yourself said" EVERY YEAR in EVERY HUB, flying is cut back right after Labor Day!" Or are you trying to be sarcastic? If so, I agree. If the market's not there, it should be cut! That's one area I believe AA has had it all over TWA. That's a sense for what is, and what is not, a profitable route!Eolesen, how many times have I told you? Their minds are made up. Do not attempt to confuse them with facts. They have decided that STL-LIT was dropped in order to gut STL. The fact that the service may not be needed is of no importance whatsoever.
Nor is the fact that EVERY YEAR in EVERY HUB, flying is cut back right after Labor Day in EVERY AIRLINE.
The elimination of STL-LIT is special. It is proof positive that STL is going away.
I have to agree with you on this one. TWA had a major hub in STL, and could fill a number of flights to LIT. AA no longer has STL in a full hub status, and offers plenty of service to LIT from ORD and DFW, and connecting service from many other places. What's important is getting people to LIT, not whether they change in ORD, DFW or STL.That's one area I believe AA has had it all over TWA. That's a sense for what is, and what is not, a profitable route!
