And HR 1 opens the door for any and all, registered or not registered to vote.Virtually anyone can vote without any checks or balances. Registering to vote must be a huge mountain to climb, maybe bigger than voter ID.

My "source" is growing up--and voting--in a state that pioneered voting by mail. It does everything the GOP claims it wants without all the messy suppression nonsense.

Colorado only allows 15 days of early voting (less than Georgia's 18 to 22), and they have voter ID laws as strict as Georgia.
They're shunning a 50% African-American city for a 90% White city.

Doesn't really matter what the value of the "gift" is. Electioneering is electioneering.
If you had Klansmen or Proud Boys handing out free cupcakes and taking pictures of the voters who refused them, perhaps your opinion might change...
The only reason laws get changed is if there's a need. Clearly, there were unforseen circumstances that created loopholes that were exploited.
There wasn't ever a need to define drop boxes until everyone was told the USPS couldn't handle the mail.
There was no need to worry about curbside or mobile voting centers until people were told they shouldn't stand in line without six feet of space between people (which is now only three feet?).
There was never really a need to worry about needing access to water or snacks until voting machines required sterilization between users, thus reducing throughput of a polling place to half of what it would be normally.
