If it is as clear cut as the article seems to indicate then I suspect they will win their appeal. I don't see any reason to issue a gag order. I looked around for other information sources there is not much out there on this.

It's infortunate that you were not as concerned about the rights of same sex couples when they were denied equal treatment under the law for the past 200+ years. Perhaps this would not have been an issue if you were.

It's as simple as this... The State of Oregon (and other courts as well) are now saying the bakers must do something which is clearly against their will. In the military, you can be a conscientious objector even though you volunteered for the military. Why private citizens don't have that same right is simply astounding.

I don't recall reading where owning a business meant giving up the ability to exercise free will or freedom of speech.

All of the "progressives" will immediately point at Jim Crow and denying based on race, but it seems pretty clear that there were a specific set of circumstances at play here and in similar cases in other states. The bakers in the Oregon case had served these people in the past, and would continue to serve them in the future, with the singular exception of participating in a marriage celebration.

It's hardly the same as refusing to serve blacks in the 1960's, but you know that's going to be the argument that gets thrown back.

No it's not that simple. Title VII says as a business owner you serve everyone. It says you cannot discriminate based on religion and I have yet to hear you speak out against that protection.

I think the assumption seems to be that since gays choose to be gay it's OK tomdiscriminate against them. Since you and South seem to be ok with that discrimination I don't understand why you are against discrimination against Christians.
