I'm kind of glad that I'm not a conservative, since it seems that their lives are filled with fear.

Kc while I don't usually agree with your views unlike some liberals  here i do respect what you write.

I think you're painting conservatism with a bit of a broad brush here, there are social conservatives, fiscal conservatives and some    are both. I'm a fiscal conservative. that's why you don't seem posting  in gay marriage threads its' just not important to me  . I could care lessw hat the gays do. it doesnt affect  me  in the least .

not obamacare I am against biggest reason  being I think it's gingt o cost me my plan  or make it unaffordable  I don't think thats right

Liberals have been propagating that lie for years. Rejection of liberal ideals is not fear.

You accusing me of fearing change is nothing more than you trying to shame me into silence.

Liberals use political correctness to suppress freedom of speech and freedom of expression and you accuse conservatives of being afraid.

Freedom of Speech only applies to the government restricting your speech.

Did you tax payer funded education and UI not teach you that?

Gays make up a large part of the congregation at the church I attend.  My church accepts them.  My church doesn't condemn them to hellfire. My church marries them.  Now, I'm not gay, but if I was, why on earth would I really want to be married in a church that says I am damned for eternity and that I am an "abomination"?  You know, even if someone sues and succeeds (they've only "attempted" in the UK, and I think we have stricter laws about church and state here), there's one thing that congress and a flock of liberals can't change - church laws and church views.  In the very highly unlikely event a church was forced to conduct a gay marriage, they might have to use the BUILDING to conduct a marriage, but they don't have to BLESS the marriage, and the pastor doesn't even have to sign the marriage license to "legitimize" the marriage.    Let them find another witness.  The church doesn't even have to RECOGNIZE the marriage.  How many times have you heard in a sermon that "the  church is not the building"?

Skeered of the libs upending our lives with Sodom and Gomorrah 2015.

FWIW under the hate crimes prevention act, it states churches can't be prosecuted for non participation in gay wedding ceremonies.

I was not talking about the amendment fool.

I was talking about the liberals using bullying tactics and attempting to publicly shame people into silence that oppose their agendas.

Dress it however you want it is still a  group of people with a political agenda trying to silence opposing views through intimidation.

Trust me, if they sued someone because they wouldn't bake them a cake, instead of going to another bakery, it won't be long before they sue a church!
Businesses are required by law to serve all people. Religious institutions by law are not not required to. Other than that tiny difference ... perfect prediction.

"rearrogation of free speech from the realm of inalienable right to state-awarded privilege"

"There is no liberty without dependency."

Yeah, that is a Democrat alright.

Let me ask you, since the mention of any ceremony isn't on any marriage license...two couples go to get a marriage license.  They both meet the biblical criteria of marriage...one man...one woman per couple.  The sanctity and holiness of marriage is intact.  The first couple is married during a Catholic High Mass and is married by the bishop.  The second couple has their wedding outside, and the officiant is a nude Elvis impersonator who skydives into the park, where they take their vows.  In the eyes of the law - how many couples are married?   In the eyes of God, how many couples are married?

Let's make it more interesting.

A couple gets married at a church. One of them is a 3 time divorcee who committed adultery. Another couple is a same sex couple who has been together for 20 years and get married at the court house.

Which couple is more respect full of the concept or marriage.

In the two post above,.........everyone is INSANE for even contemplating MARRIAGE to satisfy ANY dam state or Church.

With todays laws, all the 'priciples' can get virtually all the benefits( life insurance/health insurance  etc ) without saying " I  DO " !

Of course being in commited, loving, caring, respectful (to the other person or PERSONS  IS something I recommend ) !!

The issue is with marriage all the rights (about 1000 of them) are automatic. No lawyers are needed. No forms are needed.
