[background=rgb(245, 245, 255)]All this week SWA is flying from various cities to start proving runs for service to SJU. Yesterday a flight had the following routing: DAL HOU SJU MCO. Due to storms in SJU it was delayed until leaving DAL late in the day. Following runs are as follows: Day 2 MCO -SJU-BWI. Day 3 BWI -SJU -MCO Day 4 MCO -SJU -MCO [/background][background=rgb(245, 245, 255)]Day 5 MCO -SJU -DAL. Just wonder how long before SWA starts service there are no slots to aquire just red tape.[/background]

And they're all -800's!

should give you some idea of the cities WN intends to launch service from SJU.... or have they announced their schedule from SJU?

HOU-SJU will be a harbinger of how well service to other parts of the Caribbean/Latin America.

Good luck to you all. The nice thing about SJU runs is that the crew and the passengers don't have to clear Customs and Immigration on either end. On the Cabo runs, I'm assuming that departure and arrival in the U.S. will be at ports of entry that already have C&I. I imagine that the SJU and Cabo flights will be very successful. And, if not, WN (unlike some airlines) will have no problem with pulling the plug and saying, "Well, that didn't work the way we thought it would. Let's go to lunch and discuss."

WN's announcement today that codesharing should be possible within a few months opens the possibility to a number of routes..... 2013-14 should result in a significant number of new routes for WN even if the total amount of capacity does not grow a lot.

You are correct WT. Look for considerable increases in our route system between 2013-2015. In late 14 when the W/A goes away SWA will explode Dallas into and thru 2015 and even beyond. Hoping this will be the growth to bring in the numbers to get the investors interested again, our stock is pathetic now and has been for a long time.

and these proving runs and over the water Caribbean/Gulf experience will be extrapolated to other parts of WN's system including to/from Texas, territory which WN knows very well.

WN stock will bounce back.... WN is in a "reconfiguration" mode but they will figure out how to make it all work.

United threw a tantrum when the Houston City Council voted 16-1 to allow WN to spend its own money building its own FIS facilities at HOU:

I didn't know that, but then there has always been a "WN vs. everyone else" tension in Houston for the same reason as the WN vs. everyone else tension in Dallas. Everyone else was forced to move to the new airport out in the boonies when it opened in 1969, then WN came in and had HOU pretty much to itself for years at a much lower cost than IAH.
