Is the swine flu still considered a pandemic? It's been off the radar for quite a while. I heard that some have not fared so well with this disease but I don't think the fatalities have been what they thought. Makes me wonder if there was something more to this scare than we know.

I guess the virus I had was a hoax. I had the seasonal flu shot, then contracted the H1N1. It was not devastating for me as I am in good health. It did knock me down for 5 days. I have not been that sick in many years.

Swine flu is most assuredly for real as on of my colleagues daughters succumbed to it at age 26.

Now like anything else in a world with 500 news outlets the severity of the risk got blown out of proportion, much like the "Blizzard" conditions here on the East.

In a news hungry world truth is the first casualty.

How does one know it was the swine without a culture?

One gets a seasonal shot and gets quite ill..........ok..................does that tell they had the swine...or was it a case of food born illness that can make one sick for the same time frame?

It is for real, however the supposed pandemic is what has been overblown. Any and everyone that came down with flu symptoms were automatically considered to be swine flu, without any proper testing to confirm.
