And the reason you have the right to bear arms is to insure the security of the free state.  So when are you and Petey heading to Syria...your country needs you.  For almost 250 years they have insured that you have had the right to bear arms to insure the safety of the state.  They haven't asked much in return.  But we NEED you now.  So grab your guns and hop the next plane to Syria....it's your constitutional duty.  AFter all...you guys fight hard to keep it, but you let the others get trampled without a peep.

Their view was that the security of the state could and should be ensured by the ability of the states to raise militias in times of need.

Specifically invasion, insurrection or rebellion.

The President could ask (ask... not demand or require...) the states to supply said militias when necessary for the defense of the country.

Notice the three terms they used.

Invasion, Insurrection, Rebellion.

Perhaps we should be intrepreting those parts of the constitution very, very strictly and narrowly. After all, that is what our right-minded friends say they want.

BTW, i started this thread since you were so concerned with the gun thread being hijacked. Then, right on cue, you pivoted away from the 4th since it doesn't meet your hypocritical stance on the constitution.
