The Changes to Come

What about coffee refills? Do you have to pay for that also? If so, that is plane rediculus--especially for that gross coffee that US serves--and for such a tiny cup.

That's smart, cancel 2 leases of A330's. International is the money maker for US. They would be better off retiring 2 767's and put A330's on those routes. I am quite sure the higher lease rates would easily be absorbed by fuel costs. What losers Parker and Kirby are!
Interestingly enough, the airlines the analysts believe will make it financially are Southwest, Jet Blue and Alaska. All domestic. No international.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.

You paid $318 PHL-SFO RT recently? The approximate same price from 1982?

If so, what is there to complain about?

If I misunderstood I apologize.
No I am not complaining at all about it! I was trying to state that the $318 in 1982 was a Good Deal. Last few times I paid $680 and $630 on CO from EWR to SJC. I am not even complaining at that cause that is somewhere what the fare should be. No need to apologize, I mistake some posts quite often.

Here is my main gripe, traveling is a headache, and the last last thing I want to do is being nickle and dimed after I paid for the flight. Also with US need to have cash on hand, whereas I like to use my Credit Card or Debit Cards. Last thing I want to do is fumbling money around.

Analysts are like their first 4 letters in their title. Also like weatherman. Jet Blue does alot of Carribean flights, and Alaska does Mexico. Alaska has their own niche of a market, and their service is friendly and consistantly dependable. Jet Blue has too many long haul routes, which they have been cutting back as of lately. Southwest, well is just ran properly. Everytime you think WN is making a mistake, they come out smelling as roses. The times ahead are going to be tough, and I hope that WE ALL can survive this bump. Its going to affect every business, smart to make all the money you can and save whatever you can.

I have to agree. Do you remember when they created this goofy looking boarding process with all the big pillars with the numbers on them? I thought, OMG, this is going to be rediculous. I think they did this maybe last november?

Well, I flew WN this week for the first time since before the new boarding process. That system is so incredibly organized. I absolutely loved it.

Boarding US (and everyone else actually) is really awful. As soon as they say "in a moment we'll begin the boarding process", its like 50 people run to the gate so they can all block off the jetway so nobody can get on the plane. If I was a gate agent, I'd be like, If your boarding pass does not say zone 1, sit down or nobody gets on this plane.

On another note, the thing that US Airways does wrong is this. When any company needs to make a change, they need to also create a positive. Something that would have not made people as mad...

Need to charge for beverages... That's fine, increase the options... how about introducing four varieties of Snapple Iced Teas, and three flavors of Vita Water...

(See, when taking something away, improve the overall value)

Instead of taking the pretzles away...

The pretzles will be going away, and we will begin charging $2 for a snack - but now we'll have ten varities of Frito Lay items.

We're going to begin charging $25 to do a telephone reservation, BUT now, you'll be speaking to a person who lives in AMERICA. So instead of torturing you by making you speak to a non English speaking person on the other side of the world, at least we'll give you someone who speaks your language, on a connection that doesnt sound like you're connected by a tin can and string.

We're going to stop matching the miles for our frequent flyers, UNLESS you fly at least one round trip per month. Customers who fly at least one round trip per month will continue to receive a dividend miles match.

Southwest has the most basic product in the industry, but they package it well. They don't only make decisions based on finances, they THINK about HOW THE CUSTOMER will accept the changes, and how their employees will be able to institute the changes.

But they do live in America -- Central America!

Then there is the logistics of the whole beverage fiasco. Does anyone know how they are going to keep the soft beverages inventoried? I'm talking from commissary to truck to airplane. We don't even have the ability to keep liquor under control and THEY come inboard in kits. How about the 737,757 and 767 beverage carts on the east? Turn your back and a passenger will just swipe a can. This is so stupid I almost feel sorry that we have people so dumb that they believe this will work. I will comp my heart out. Your cute..wanna coke? Your a hottie...wanna sprite? 🙄 My goodness this is a joke. I can see it now, "Mr XXXXX your soda count was off AGAIN". Oh well maybe a few cans popped out of the cart during turbulence.

I Can't Wait To Get a Letter In My Box From My Supv "You Need To See Me About Your Soda Inventory Sheet There Seems To Be Some Soda's Missing"! Yeah It Will Go The Same Place The Low Block Letter Goes...In File 13!!

Anyone remember PeopleExpress? Looks like it's our new biz model just the prices have been adjusted for inflation.

Again, if you feel your pay is "obscene" Hmm. makes one wonder. . .
Bargain with management with the force of the RLA to get fair pay and benefits and if you don’t like labor disputes and job actions than quit
