One in five Americans have mental issues, so how many are sitting in the left seat up front ? It's not AA. It's an National epidemic...

Diagnosis of mental issues disqualifies you of first class medical status per 14 CFR 67.107 so don't worry about the folks up front in the left or right seat.

I wouldn't be sure. You can get any doctor to clear you.
If you look around its obvious that there are a lot of pilots
that do not pass their physical. They buy their physical. The only way that there would be some kind of control is if the physical where done by their respective airline medical department. But no one cares. It's all about dollars and cents.

Oh sure our pilots will be happy to disclose their mental health issues and be screwed for life. You are naive if you believe that they disclose it. Just as there are flight attendants, mechanics, agents, cleaners, with mental health issues, there are pilots. They just have to be quiet about it.

Well, well. Guess we might have to worry about the folks in the left or right seat too.

JetBlue flight diverted after captain's 'erratic' behavior

(CNN) -- A JetBlue flight from New York to Las Vegas was diverted to Amarillo, Texas, on Tuesday after the captain "exhibited erratic behavior" and was locked out of the cockpit, authorities said.

The plane's co-pilot, concerned by the behavior, locked the door behind the captain when he left the cockpit during the flight, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Passengers described to CNN what happened next.

"The pilot ran to the cockpit door, began banging on it and said something to the effect of, 'We've gotta pull the throttle back. We've gotta get this plane down,'" said Laurie Dhue.

"At that point, the two flight attendants tried to subdue him, and then seemingly out of nowhere, about six or seven large guys stormed to the front of the plane and wrestled the captain of the plane down to the ground and had him subdued in a matter of moments. It was really like something out of a movie," she said.

I don't know if you guys remember the DC10 captain back in the late 80's early 90's we called"tin man".. He was an international captain, flew HNL and OGG back in the day then transitioned to 76 captain.. He wore a Cellophane/ Reynolds Wrap jump suit under his uniform..

He crunched when he walked..haha!! Said it shielded him from ultraviolet rays in the cockpit..

I guess he forgot the hood cause I think his brain got fired... lol!

funny chit..
