What's new

The tides have turned-

I am pretty sure Obama will get a second term but with any luck, the republicans will gt a few seats back in the Senate. I definitely do not like the dems having a veto proof majority.

Heres hows things work in the real world and not the Hope and Change leg tingly world...

Presidents get elected on words and promises. Presidents get re-elected on actions and real change.

All Obama has is his oratory skills, that what got him elected. However people, not just republicans have now seen that is all he has and are seeing thru him.

As the economy continue's to tank (Unemployment jumps to a 26-year high of 9.7%) and the continual riding on the backs of dem majority in congress, he will go down with them. Do not doubt that he is in a political fight for his life.

Obama did not win on a landslide via popular vote. He gained the majority popular vote from the independents and a small few of republicans. That will change next time as people see what hope and change really means. The electoral college will most likely follow suit as well.

Yes, you are right again. How could I forget all the changes and improvements W Bush had made from 2000 to 2004.

Yes he did, go review the BLS data month by month. Facts don't lie.

Yes, but left field liberals do. Let me say that I think that there are a lot of good democrats and republicans out there. The problem is that both parties have been hijacked by their respective extremes. We need both parties to return to their moderate roots.

Bean,

I think I agree with you for the most part. There are good people on both sides, I think more than we realize. I think what gets in the way is the mob mentality. Get a bunch of repubs or dems together and they all turn in to blithering idiot.

Aside from that, we get the Congress we want. We have the power to vote them in and we can vote them out. We just choose not to. We get what we deserve.

Yup. What's that old saying? The masses are a$$es.

RED works for me too!

Shows dems losing more than others except for Ford.....his was due to Nixon pardon....

You point was what....a shot in the foot?

Nice link counselor....
My point was exactly what I said it was...interesting.

It is what it is.

Obama has taken a steep dive. I always thought that would happen. There is no way he could maintain his popularity given the policy issues he was dealt. I am really surprised they haven't dropped more.

You don't need to read anything into it Dude.

One other note. Being a law student does not make me a counselor.

At my age the only thing that makes me is a late arrival.
