Things AA "can" afford

I can't believe this is a serious thread. Maybe AA should just stop flying airplanes entirely because of the fuel expense. Would that make you happy?

The problem many of you have is that you have only the most basic understanding of a how a business actually runs. Attacking an advertising campaign is a perfect illustrator that some of you will never "get it".

These pictures were taken inside the AA Center in Dallas, it's a very nice facility

Went through the ready room at JFK hangar yesterday, brand new tables, chairs and refriderators etc, looks nice, but the previous tables and chairs were in a lot better shape than the cars in the parking lot.

Also see they are remodeling LGA terminal again, so they can tear the whole thing down in a couple of years.

Since they're tearing down the old soda cup control tower, it wouldn't surprise me if concourse renovations were paid for in part by the Port Authority...

More advertising, this is just SWELL.

AA has long been a gay-friendly travel provider.

Gays tend to have higher disposable income than heteros and tend to spend a lot more on travel. Kudos to AA for trying to separate gays from their money. Better AA than a competitor.

And KUDOS to you, for the detailed explanation.

Why don't they advertise trips and cruises to the Bahamas for the Gayzzz? 😉

From what I heard this afternoon AA can afford 7000 new ergonomic chairs. At AFW, facility maintenance was assembeliing their part of the chairs and the price tag was still on the chairs. It was a mere $400 per chair. I could understand this if the the chairs that they were replacing were not in good shape, but that is not the case and afterall isn't AA cash strapped and can't afford anything like pay raises. Since the ivory tower (Headquarters) trolls this site maybe they could confirm who authorized this purchase. I here that the purchase order came straight from the ivory tower.

Is their any way we could get the old chairs sent to AFW? We don't have any breakrooms in TAESL and we have to supply our own.

Sounds like a waste of money.

The good news is that AA probably didn't pay anywhere near the $400 price on the tags; when you buy 7,000 pieces of furniture, you can usually get a substantial discount from list.

Cynical conspiracy theory alert: Wonder if this purchase was prompted by a lawsuit against AA (or some other company) where an employee alleged that their crappy non-ergonomic chair was the cause of their disability and it cost the employer a bushel of money. Things like that happen and when word gets out, cautious companies will decide that if a $400 chair will preempt any future BS lawsuits like that one, then let's get every desk jockey a $400 chair. Same thing with keyboards and alleged wrist injuries and computer monitors and eyesight issues.

FWAAA beat me to it, but dollars to donuts, it's related to a OSHA/workers' comp issue...

It would suprise me, and most other New Yorkers.

Just walked into the breakroom here at DFW term and there's a big yellow cake with "go steelers" across it. I asked who brought it in and was told management did.... Funny, we have guys celebrating 20, 25 and 30 years with the company and can't even get a handshake.
