What's new

Think about the money... they sure are

I think the folks that were flying the E170's might disagree with that.
And this will probably warm the hearts of the Comair/PSA folks - they work for DL and US just like you....

Jim
Yah, that truly sucks what happened to the E170 people, both flight and cabin crews. What was the deal with that, Republic infused much neededn cash into the old US that essentially "saved" US? Guess it could've been you out on the street, too, Jim. Sucks. Hopefully they'll be back at mainline soon.

As far as the Comair/PSA folks....are you saying that I just revealed some big secret that there is too much RJ capacity in the system? Didn't think so. Was not ever meant to be rude, simply stating what was said. Hope for the best....

You are one arrogant A**hole!!!!!!!!!Even my Delta buddies think so, but Merry Christmas anyway!
Don't like it? Take your ball and go home. His comment is nothing compared to to what your company is doing and you are supporting.

Delta is twice the size of your pathetic operation. How hard was it to integrate a few hundred 3rd tier America West Pilots into US Airways.
Yah. So there.

Someone got a little too tipsy and their pride overfloweth! Ive always heard that AA pilots are 1st tier, so Deltas boys are 2nd tier?

Make love.....

Well, you may be TWICE the size, but you are in a BANKRUPT operation that WILL be bought by our "pathetic operation" as you put it. It will be US with a new name....a horrible name at that. Deal with it!

Do you think Sears and K-mart employees fought like this when Sears bought K-mart?? lol

Now Target vs Wal Mart....that would be a show!! lol

This is so stupid people....WE DON'T HAVE A SAY IN THIS!!!

It was stated just before you entered BK that your magnificent size would prevent you from turning the corner like US Airways did.

Oh brother, you actually do believe your own press releases. You must of got hired by the rocking chair guy. If Delta is so great why did thay furlough, make a trip to BK and have a business plan predicated on US going out of business? You must of been the guy a couple years ago who tried to stop me from getting on the hotel van. "We dont ride with other crews",as I got onto the van I responded "okay we will send the van back for you " . The look on his arrogant face PRICELESS!

I've never heard of this until I started reading these boards. If this is true-then we deserve to be in BK. Our only business plan the last 75 years was to assume US would go out of business? Is that how all the other airlines ended up in BK too?

i am sorry to say my friend , but this is very true . delta's success was predicated on usairways's demise. dumb business plan that really backfired. your slogan is "good goes around" it really should be "what goes around comes around".

The DL "business plan" was a statement made by Leo Mullin back in 2003 or thereabouts.

Actually, this brings up a good point. Can anyone link to any statement from a DL executive stating that the plan was for US Airways to go out of business, or is this another example of an airline rumor that has become an urban legend?

More short term memory issues...which airline wallowed through chapter 11 not once but twice in a three year period?

You say 'WILL be bought' like it is an edict from on high, writ in stone and as inevitable as death and taxes when this deal going through is hardly as inevitable as those two things.

I think the estimates of a ten percent capacity reduction young Parker has made are overly optimistic. If I recall my history the government was looking for about ten percent capacity reduction with the UAL/U merger in 2000.

And that was with United, a carrier that has nowhere near the East Coast presence that Delta does.

I think the conditions that the government will place on this transaction will be too high for Parker to accept.
