What's really frightening is that DALPA could play ball and Delta could still be near collapse.

Holly is a decent analyst but sometimes comes across as a union shill. She's still better than just about everyone else out there, though. She called UAL's troubles way earlier than anyone else.
Yes, it is frightening. Last week, DAL and ALPA reached agreement on approximately 19mil more in cost savings so there is some movement. Still, the two sides are apart some 200 million. From the pilots I have talked to, the 19% cut is not the problem but all the other cuts in the proposal that add up. My question is this.. Alpa has offered 9% cut and the company wants 19%. If ALPA were to agree to the 19% cut on top of the 19million agreed to last week, wouldn't they be quite close to the numbers DAL says it needs? Plus remember that the pilots are the last work group to get on board. When the pilots and management reach an agreement, that to me could be the beginning of the turnaround.
