PHL held their own.. 2 picketers at AWEST, 2 at B, 2 at C. Guess mgmt made a few phone calls to the PHL airport authority. Oh well, we do what we can do. 😛h34r:Thank you for that news clip. However, I was referring to PHL an how their turnout was, etc.
Yah, there were severe restrictions put on FA's as to how many can picket, where, when, etc..... it was way more restrictive than it was back in 2000..... PHL allowed only *6* picketers in 3 different terminals....
Maybe you should have tried to be there, phlfa88, instead of whining about how much your union does not care for you. Boo-hoo-hoo, poor thing![]()
Was there a certain amount that they could have? I did hear that sometimes they do that..They may have only allowed 9 people to picket. So, they split it up.PHL held their own.. 2 picketers at AWEST, 2 at B, 2 at C. Guess mgmt made a few phone calls to the PHL airport authority. Oh well, we do what we can do. 😛h34r:

Yes, 6 picketers. TOTAL. The entire airport. 6......Was there a certain amount that they could have? I did hear that sometimes they do that..They may have only allowed 9 people to picket. So, they split it up.
Aww.... 🙁 88 seniority could not hold 10/31 off? Oh well, maybe next year....I Was Trying TO A Living!! WORKING!!
It's my understanding that CLT requires each person to apply for & be issued a separate picture "approved picketter" ID at a cost to the individual of $10. That may have limited turnout.

Even sadder when you think that the party that likely implemented such restrictions against the 1st amendment is the same one that will fight any and all restrictions against the 2nd amendment.Sad, isn't it, that citizens have allowed our country has come to this, when a public demonstration is charged to exercise their own constitutional rights. When citizens are herded into "free speech zones", out of the way and out of sight.
As far the excuse about security "concerns":
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Picket and Protest Phoenix-Style!
All Tricks-No Treats Halloween Protest Huge Success!
A 10 foot tall puppet effigy of US Airways CEO Doug Parker led more than a 100 Flight Attendants and their supporters outside Terminal 4 Sky Harbor Airport today as AFA members demonstrated their frustration with the management of US Airways over stagnant single contract talks, low wages, and corporate greed.
With bags of money clutched tightly in his hands and shirt pockets stuffed with stock options, the Parker Puppet was the perfect reminder to flight attendants of the - all tricks-no treats - management mentality and hollow rhetoric of a cost neutral single contract.
America West and US Airways Flight Attendants were joined by Northwest, United, and Southwest Flight Attendants, as well as ALPA representatives in the Solidarity Protest.
US Airways Flight Attendants based in Charlotte-CLT, Washington, DC- DCA, and New York- LGA, joined the Phoenix Protest; with several US Airways crewmembers joining the march during their sit time in Phoenix.
Flight Attendants went on record today, not only in Phoenix but at all US Airways domiciles, that they will not move backwards in contract negotiations because of this merger. America West and US Airways Flight Attendants are united in securing a single contract that addresses industry-competitive wages, benefits, and working conditions. The days of concessionary bargaining is over at US Airways.
Your MEC Officers would like to thank all the flight attendants who took the time in making this event a success. We would also like to thank ALPA MEC Chairman, Kevin Kent, and our friends at Northwest, United, and Southwest Airlines for their support. Special thanks to Bob Fritz, Nicki Kirkeby, and Lisa LeCarre for their hard work.
