What's the percentage of famiiles that are on food stamps? In the US or Maine? This is just for people with no dependents. But that's not even half of the number. You look at 10,000 people in Maine and feel that we would get similar results when implemented on the 45 million. Over half that number are families and of that, most of them work. Sure it feels good to kick a deadbeat off food stamps....but you really won't make a dent in the program since most recipients work.

For the longest time, Walmart workers were claiming food stamps at a pretty hefty rate. One in Wisconsin cost taxpayers over $904,000 per year in food stamps assistance. Break it down and it amounts to YOU paying them $2.75 per hour over what Walmart paid. Why not ask Walmart to give them a raise so they don't need food stamps? They are working after all. AND....not only do they get food stamps....the spend them at....Walmart to buy their groceries.

So one Wal-Mart cost Maine $904,000 in food stamp assistance for it's employees? They really are a ballbag outfit. I never shop there.

Oh, well, I guess we shouldn't even try then. 🙄

Do you have any actual facts or is this just another example of baseless liberal propaganda such as the quote below?
If Trump has his way, we will be "forcing people to participate in the workforce" well into their 80's.

There you go again with your liberal propaganda. Nobody said anything about kicking the working poor off of welfare. The working poor are NOT being targeted. The law states anybody working at least 20 hours a week qualifies so why even bring up Walmart employees?

That being said yes it does bother me that Walmart uses the government to subsidize their payroll. Then again, people who settle into that job and show no ambition to move up in the company or find something better need to take part of the blame as well if they are unhappy with their situation.

The point is that the working poor are the bulk of food stamp recipients. Like I said..it feels great to kick a deadbeat off welfare, but it's hardly making a dent. It's fun to point to a place where the population is so low and say there is an 80% reduction. To put it in perspective....the folks who were kicked off welfare in Maine reduced national food stamp recipients by .002%

I edited what you quoted so feel free to update it if you like.

First off I would like to know where you got the .002% figure.

Second, I don't care if it is .000000002%. You cut cost where you can. Nobody ever stated this was the end all and be all of our debt issue.

You are also ignoring the fact that forcing those people back into the workforce will increase the economy and the tax base.

Yes....all the taxes we collect from minimum wage jobs will easily make up for the tax cut for the top 1%

It is obvious you can find no fault with the Maine food stamp work requirement so instead you are just spewing propaganda hoping something sticks.

Give it up KCFlyer you are embarrassing yourself.

Know when your beat.

I"m not beat. I think it's great that Maine got 80% of their single food stamp recipients off the dole. Great work. And they've got jobs and they will contribute to the economy and they will pay taxes. And this is important because after our tax cut for billionaires, we are going to need as many plebeians as we can paying taxes to make up. I mean, all 10,000 of the newly employed, former food stamp using folks in Maine will bring in part of the revenues lost when one billionaire gets his taxes dropped. If they can get 100,000 more working, we might get recoup the entire amount lost in one billionaires tax cut.

I'll fight my battles you fight yours.

If you think what Maine is doing is great then why are we having this conversation.

If you have a problem with the wealthy than by all means lead the charge.

Depending on your agenda I might even join you (say a flat 20% for all) but I would not count on our agendas for that particular issue to be compatible.

Why are you so against people having the money they earned to spend as they please? Especially when the government is so wasteful with the money they get anyway. You liberals really should just step back and let the conservatives run the country then you guys can donate all the money you want to 501's that cater to your particular interest. You're such a grand proponent of Planned Parenthood. Take the funds you got to keep because of your tax cut and give it to them. I don't want my tax dollars going there.

Because these dummies actually believe the government is the great equalizer.

They can't comprehend that most of what the government calls socialism and "entitlements" are actually manipulation and control.

Liberals are conditioned to hate anything that provides any kind of standard because they hate personal responsibility and consequences.

First off....I doubt I'll get a tax cut....I doubt you'll get one either. If we do, it will be about enough to buy one months of groceries. I guess wasteful spending is bad, and getting the deadbeats off welfare is cutting spending. But remember, we want to increase military spending as well, so I guess it will just go over there....no reduction in spending at all. I'd rather not have my tax dollars going to fund a military that is larger than the next 8 nations armies combined. I think they might be big enough already.

And I'm not against people spending the money they earned to spend as they please. But the problem is..if you gave the bulk of a tax cut to the middle and lower income groups, they might actually SPEND that money. When you give it to a billionaire, they will put it into the market, and the market has yet to create a single job. It's all the more likely when you also want to cut or eliminate capital gains. But you and me? We'll hardly see anything. In fact, there is a good chance that we could see OUR taxes go up.

That's a mighty broad brush you are painting with.

I have seen some broad mobs giving broad examples very recently.

Want me to start posting some video's of your little SJW snowflakes at work?

Thanks to Youtube and camera phones I have a never ending supply.

I have yet to meet a liberal that was not loud mouthed, opinionated, and attention seeking.
