Yes pointing out the truth and bringing about real change will always be a problem to a twu bubba believer. I never thought I would live to see the day that a so-called unionist call one of its members part of the problem when refering to the work environment. Just shows how out of touch the twu is in its role as a union, they truly believe that they are the company.

So you want to be "touchy feely"? I can respect your opinions when kept within reason. I do recognize that you are still a member of the TWU, but you are distant, and objective to the agenda of the TWU. How do we meet upon common ground? Or is it possible that we can relate to one another in such a mannor? I am a forgiving person who can accept those who have committed mistakes in life. Are you one of those?

Speaking of distant members, that would be me.

So why do you believe it is up to you to decide what is within reason?

Are you one of those officers that is building the new union hall at Local 514 without the permission of the membership?

The only union mistake ever made is to give away the gains negotiated by real union men and women in the past. You on the hand claim to be union when you give away years of negotiated benefits. Or did you vote against the concessions?

buck, A little info for you. I did indeed vote for the concessions! And to date, it has been the right choice as to the "survival" of the TWU membership....!!! Do you have a problem with that???? Can you offer any "sane alternative" to why we should have rejected the concessions? Just take a look at those that are misrepresented by the amfa

because concessions are anti-union!

AFL-CIO Constitutional Preamble

Article II: Objects and Principles

The objects and principles of this Federation are:

1. To aid workers in securing improved wages, hours and working conditions with due regard for the autonomy, integrity and jurisdiction of affiliated unions.

Ok, so what is the solution? Maybe before you answer that can you say what the problem is? Somehow I think that you do not feel that declining wages are a problem.

You mean like SWA where they make more than any other airline and their headcount continues to expand?

Solidarity with whom? You dont seem too concerned about anyone in high cost areas and the TWU has sliced and diced the membership in so many ways that "Solidarity" is impossible. Over 20 locals, all sorts of different pay rates for people doing the same classification of work, different contracts, even different seniority rules between people in the same exact classification.

Survival? What are you saying that if you dont work for less that you wont survive? Didnt you survive before you started working for AA?

How low will you go?

If the only way to "survive" and stay with AA is to give them everything they want then what do we need the TWU for?

Twenty years of concessionary contracts.

The SRP / OSM classification.

So solidarity at the expense of the less senior member.

You are correct, I do object to the twu's agenda which is clearly COMPANY UNIONISM. Common ground would be very easy to meet by having an election once and for all. It's real easy, winner takes all and charts the course for the future. Until an election takes place, common ground will never be found.

Are you suggesting that I have made mistakes in my life? Are you one of those who likes to pass judgement on others while blindly following the leadership of immoral punks, drunks, felons, etc, etc, etc. What's worse or better yet, since you started it, what's morally right, supporting democracy or known felons and drunks? But don't worry, I will forgive you for blindly following your twu leadership.

amfaman, I see that you have not changed course now that you have a couple cheerleaders to support you. The vote will not come amfaman! It is really over... It is now time to face our difficulties as Union members. Enough of the back-biting, I'm tired of it! I had told myself that I would stop at 300 but I guess one or two over won't hurt.......Bye/Bye amfaman 😛 😛 😛

You just keep saying that there will be no vote and keep chugging those beers. If unity and solidarity are the founding principles of the labor movement, why do you support company unionism, is that the unity and solidarity you're talking about, being one with the compAAny.
